Official Thread on Corruption in Argentina - Milei Administration Cleaning up house

She’s already facing consequences, the government revoked her privileged pension and the benefit she received from Néstor Kirchner. Adorni stated that Argentina won’t allocate funds to anyone convicted of corruption.

No one talks about the corruption within Milei's side. Paying Senator Kueider and getting caught. That was th money he got from Milei and his party. Always with corruption here. Never stops.

Exactly! In the end, politics here is just a business. Promises mean nothing, it’s all about deals and money changing hands. They claim to bring change, but it’s the same corrupt system over and over again. So disappointing. And of course, this individual is using Milei’s words to have his expulsion declared invalid. Who would’ve thought Milei would defend a corrupt Kirchnerista? That’s when you really see what’s going on. In the end, it’s all a big farce, where personal interests and corruption come before any promise of change. Truly disappointing.

I agree that Milei comes across looking bad defending this guy. It's obvious that they paid this guy for his support. Defending the guy just makes them look even more guilty. Politics as usual I guess. We can't expect much different. All these politicians are probably dirty.

Milei is all part of the same corruption. These politicians are all the same.

I don't think Milei is involved with Corruption but definitely people in the administration probably are. It is difficult to root out corruption in Argentina. Will take a long time.

I agree Betsy. He seems intent on doing the right thing for Argentina so I would give him some leeway. Without a party supporting Milei, you had to know from the outset that he would do "deals with the devil", I actually see it as a sign of his political acumen, otherwise he would get stuck in the mud.

Totally true. President Milei is hell-bent on improving things. I've been in many meetings each day here with many bankers, lawyers, developers and everyone agrees things are moving in the right direction. You will always have to deal with some form of corruption here. As @CraigM mentioned you can get stuck if you don't deal.

What about all of Macri's hidden offshore cash?

I don't know, but would it be that unusual? Does anyone with decent savings have it sitting in Pesos in an Argentinian bank?
