What happens if Argentina gets too expensive? What are alternative cities/countries to move to when it's overpriced in Argentina?

Just for the record, I dont own any Crocket & Jones shoes. nor does my wife have any Prada anything. She did buy one Lopez purse however. I am actually thinking about coming back to Argentina. I still own a property there and the lease ends.

Any guesses where we think the Blue dollar exchange rate will head in 2024?

I formally lived in Buenos Aires and I rented out an apartment to a friend for many years. The lease is finally coming off the lease and I don't think I will renew it as I want to come back to Buenos Aires. I recently reconnected with an old amiga and want to visit her as well as some others I...

What happens if Argentina gets too expensive? What are alternative cities/countries to move to when it's overpriced in Argentina?

Oh, the magical creation of "international champions" – I'm all ears for that enchanting tale. Perhaps we could summon them with a sprinkle of fairy dust or a wave of a political wand. But, alas, reality beckons, and creating global juggernauts isn't as simple as a flick of the wrist. So, let's...

What happens if Argentina gets too expensive? What are alternative cities/countries to move to when it's overpriced in Argentina?

Well, we're in a bit of a comedy tango here, my friend! Let's break it down – Prada mocassins (that's fancy for loafers, y'all) are strutting their stuff at $680 US on sale at Nordstroms. Meanwhile, the Argentine counterparts are waltzing in at a cool third of that price. Cue the price-drop mic...

What happens if Argentina gets too expensive? What are alternative cities/countries to move to when it's overpriced in Argentina?

Ah, the perplexing world of pricing – where you can snag a pair of shoes in the US for anything from a humble $12 bucks to a wallet-walloping $1,200+. The real mystery here: which end of the spectrum are we talking about when we say "not price-competitive"? Now, let's debunk the myth that...

What happens if Argentina gets too expensive? What are alternative cities/countries to move to when it's overpriced in Argentina?

Oh, the sheer brilliance of Argentina's export strategy – or should I say, lack thereof? We can have a friendly disagreement on just how much "socialism" plays into the mix, but one thing we can surely agree on is that the Argentine government has mastered the art of encouraging exports... not...

What happens if Argentina gets too expensive? What are alternative cities/countries to move to when it's overpriced in Argentina?

No, you have it reverse. Ah, the delightful dance of economic intricacies in nations reliant on a solo product – usually some blingy diamonds or liquid gold, like oil. The result? Wealth concentration galore, often in the hands of the most cunning or those with the shiniest guns – the...

Is the Expat party in Buenos Aires coming to an end?

Oh, absolutely! With all these incentives and Ciudad del Este just a hop away, who in their right mind would cough up those wallet-draining prices in BsAs? Prices are totally going to do the limbo – how low can you go. Prices I would think have to come back down with these DNU's from Milei...

A roundup of must-visit nightclubs in Buenos Aires that you shouldn't miss

Which was your favorite? I remember many years going with my novia. My Novia is MUCH younger than I am. We went very late and they didn't even open yet! I told her I would give her a hallpass and took a taxi home. Ha. I can't remember if she used the hallpass or not but she didn't show up...

Argentina possesses less than 1% of the proven oil reserves held by either Saudi Arabia or Venezuela. The untapped oil resources in Argentina are predominantly situated in shale formations, necessitating a distinct and more intricate extraction process compared to conventional reservoirs.

Politics Protests erupt in Argentina against President Javier Milei’s economic shock decree - Argentina Reports

I'm not sure what you're smoking! Your wishful thinking seems like some alternate universe. Everyone I talk to said prices are more expensive. Don Julio now has $125 USD steaks. Interesting discussion on the fire/environmental thingy. My take? In essence, the prevailing fire law stipulates...

LOL! I take it you live in one of those super fancy homes in a gated community. :) OK, now when I watch El Reino I will think of you @GlasgowJohn in the gated community. I actually live in a gated community too so I won't chastize you too much.

Newcomer What are some good movies to watch on Netflix to learn Spanish and watch some of the local culture that feature Buenos Aires?

Check out Okupas and more realistic vs. the fake gated communities and scenes that most people don't relate to. It's on Netflix below. I like seeing the real-life Porteño lives. The many dog walkers, kids playing soccer with their friends, people out at all hours of the night like real life...
