    Newcomer Is Buenos Aires safe?

For us Phuket is very expensive. It doesn't matter if you're foreigners or locals, you pay the same price when you go there. Alcohol is generally expensive especially wine due to high import tax. However, earlier this year the govt announced the tax cut so the next time I go back I expect...

    Newcomer Is Buenos Aires safe?

Hate to break it to you but CABA is a bubble. Conurbano on the other hand is the real world I suppose. In the past year, two of my partner's family members got their car robbed at gunpoint (one of the family members is a police officer out of uniform) and yesterday as my suegros were leaving...

I hear you about the heat. I'm not used to it myself but everywhere is air-conditioned so that makes it more manageable.

The monthly fee varies according to the size of your apt. Mine is considered cheap it is about $0.90/sq.m./month (around $600/year). But I think the average per sq.m now elsewhere is around $1.2/sq.m./month depending on how fancy your apt is and where it is. Some fancy ones are more expensive of...

    Newcomer Is Buenos Aires safe?

Yes, most apartments for rent come fully furnished. For a studio or one bedroom apt at my complex it costs around $60,000. The room I have is being averagely sold around $120,000.

Yes, I bought a black Phillips procesador from Coto. It comes with the entire set of slicers etc etc and a blender. If I am not mistaken the model is Multiprocesadora Alimentos Philips Hr7301/90 750w. The higher the watts the better.

Hard to say because BKK is huge and it caters to all sorts of lifestyles. Apartments are cheaper and more modern with nice amenities and facilities and there's even an oversupply. I'd say for a not so fancy lifestyle, you could live comfortably with $2,000/month or even less (rent included)...

Yes, a lot of items at TICH are cheaper than the rest but you need to check and compare. I just went to barrio chino and found that the exact same brand of coconut milk costs 3450, 3550 and 4500 depending on the store.

Coming from Asia...LATAM is an entirely different world. They say CABA is considered one of the safest places in LATAM yeah but the bar is pretty low.

    Newcomer Is Buenos Aires safe?

I went back to Bangkok and the train was packed during rush hour and I automatically put my hands on the pockets of my pants for fear of a possible pickpocket (habit I suppose) but then I realized oh I don't have to do it here. It's safe and no one will pick my pockets no matter how packed the...

For me Casa China and Ichiban have the most selections when it comes to Asian vegetables (water spinach should be in season sometime this month). Prices are similar. Asia Oriental has less variety of vegetables but has more sauces and other Southeast Asian condiments on top of the usual...

Visas How complicated is it to obtain residency in Argentina?

You kinda have to be here at least in the beginning because you will need to submit certain documents in person a couple of times and go to PFA and Reincidencia for fingerprint sometime during the process.

I'm doing it all myself both PR and citizenship.

Visas How complicated is it to obtain residency in Argentina?

When you marry an Argentine citizen or have your child born here, you can start the process of PR and citizenship at the same time right away but separately (because PR is done with Migraciones and citizenship is done through Juzgado. They have nothing to do with one another) so there is no need...

Visas How complicated is it to obtain residency in Argentina?

Different people definitely have their own unique reasons why they want multiple passports. I have an Argie friend who has both AR and IT passports and is married to a US citizen. Now he has 3 passports namely AR, IT and US. About two years ago Spain passed a law nicknamed Ley de Nietos for...

I tried to get it the same day right after the expediente turned RESUELTO but this was the reply from Renaper:

Wooohoooo!!!!! One PR down, one to go!

When your expediente status is changed from whatever previously to RESUELTO, you need to wait probably a week or two to be able to request IDtramite on Renaper's Whatspp channel.

Wooohoooo!!!!! One PR down, one to go!

The system will add 00 in front of the 9-digit IDtramite automatically once you input it in the box. Below is what I looked up for a friend of mine who isn't so tramite savvy.

@StatusNomadicus Estado del tramite, then Hablar con agente and proceed from there.

Wooohoooo!!!!! One PR down, one to go!

@StatusNomadicus Renaper also has Whatsapp where you can ask them for your IDtramite. It's a bot-like chat so they will ask you certain info to verify who you are. If I remember correctly, choose 'estado de tramite' once all the choices appear. Then proceed from there. Once you have your...
