President Javier Milei Lays out Blueprint for Dollarization in Argentina

Won't the government have to eventually devaluate the currency again driving up inflation again? Seems like an endless loop.

    ATM - highest withdraw limit

Wow that is still a relatively low amount to withdraw! But 4 X more is better. That's still only around $45 dollars right? At least I have a no fee bank that will rebate me so it would be ok. Can you withdraw over and over from the same machine?

Newcomer Which neighborhood do you recommend?

I heard from many people that Recoleta is much cleaner than much of Palermo so I guess it has that going for it too. Looks like the poshest 5 star hotels are all in Recoleta. I saw that the Park Hyatt, Four Seasons, Alvear Palace hotel are all within a few blocks away. That looks like a great area.

    Day 6-7

Thanks. Oh wow. I heard that highrises in Soho were non-existent. I guess being up that high is great for noise. My friends say their places were loud but they moved to Recoleta and said it's more quiet there.

Supermarket Diarco in Buenos Aires is exchanging Blue dollar at 1,400 pesos to $1 USD (Any condition, shape or denomination)

Great news! That would be cool if more and more stores accepted US dollars at a high blue dollar exchange rate. But I can't tell from these signs. Are they only accepting $100 bills or will they accept smaller denominated bills too?

Newcomer Is dog poop on sidewalks as bad as I read online in forums and blogs? Do people not pick up after their dogs?

You aren't the only one. I've recieved no less than 6 private messages from people that want to give me a private tour and either show me the poop or protect me from the poop. Who know people were so into poop protection. :ROFLMAO:

    Day 6-7

@CraigM how do you find the noise level in the city? What part of the city are you staying in? Is it noisy? I heard levels of noise pollution there are terrible. I was curious on your take?

Newcomer Is dog poop on sidewalks as bad as I read online in forums and blogs? Do people not pick up after their dogs?

Darn that is a great invention! I have never seen one of these so thanks for sharing it. My friends there didn't mean these machines. They moved over to Recoleta because they said it was cleaner there. They said all the doormen clean the sidewalks in front of their building on their entire...

    Question on Real Estate

I look on Zonaprop all the time at real estate and all the ones that look nice all say they are under construction and not done for several years. I read that even if they say it will be done in 2026 it probably means 2027. Many of the older apartments for sale are ugly. What happens if a...

    Day 3-5

My friend there also had to have a local allow her to use her DNI to get that App to work. They really should fix that if they want tourists to use it. Bummer about the dog poop. That is what my friend told me. She said you have to be very careful. I guess they weren't teasing me and it is...

Newcomer Why are imported products so expensive here?

My friends there that are American say the same thing all the time. I don't think people buy as much junk like we do in the U.S. I have to admit I buy junk on Amazon almost every day.

Newcomer Is dog poop on sidewalks as bad as I read online in forums and blogs? Do people not pick up after their dogs?

Looks like this confirms everything I hear that it's safe there except accidentally stepping in dog poop. :ROFLMAO:

    Day 3-5

Wow 2 times at the same restaurant? With all the great places it must be very good. Why repeat? What did you have both times that you ate there at Sotto Voce @CraigM? It must be very good. My friend said that was her favorite Italian restaurant. I would also be interested in doing that soccer...

    Day 1-2

@CraigM thank you for your real time reports! I am getting many ideas of what to do based on your trip report. Can you tell me objectively how you see the streets and sidewalks? Is there a lot of dog poop on the sidewalks? What's your opinion on it? You sound like a pretty objective guy. Thanks.

Apartment Rental Expenses have increased by 101.6% so far in 2024 and are putting pressure on the budgets of owners and tenants - Infobae

These kind of increases are shocking. Almost 300% increase in one year. I'm not sure how locals can budget this kind of increase. Sounds like no plans of slowing down either.

How can the food here be so bad ?

My friends there now for the past year have told me there are good places but you have to work a bit at it. If you just go to random places you can get some bad food too. They commented the same that they heard it was all really great food everywhere. They said there are good and bad places...

    Day 1-2

Thank you! I think I will follow your itinerary. Also, @CraigM have you checked out any gyms at all? I heard personal trainers are very affordable there. I want to get a bunch of facials, massages and maybe yoga or personal trainer time as well. Please post if you find a good gym you like.

More and more locals are fighting back against crime

Are people this nuts in Buenos Aires? I saw this video. The bus just got in an accident and it didn't look serious and the woman goes nuts. Is this normal in Argentina?
