Wow that is insane that mosquitos are still around with that cold. Sucks about your husband and face. That happened to me once and I'm slightly allergic so my face was all swollen!

    Newcomer Mosquito invasion in BA

Wow how long do these suckers live? I thought the colder weather would wipe them all out. I assume outdoors they are all gone? I see the Dengue numbers and a LOT this year...

Don Julio now has $100 US steaks

I had heard Don Julio was one of the best steakhouses in the world but #1? Wow, I see this list online. I guess if it's ranked #1 in the entire world the prices don't seem out of line then.

Argentina and Ukraine working on joint weapons? Is this true?

Don't feel bad Avocado. My government in the United States is broke too but they stole $60 billion dollars of taxpayer money to give to Ukraine. Bigger amount for Israel. Not fun!

What is the best Steak to order in Argentine restaurant?

Wow thank you everyone! This is the absolute best forum on Buenos Aires. Everyone is so friendly and helpful. Thank you!! Also, thank you @Pobre Luis for posting that receipt. Wow that is still very affordable compared to the US. Portions must be huge if 6 people are sharing only 2 steaks.

What place has the best medialunas in Buenos Aires?

Hey!! By the way forgive my ignorance. Are medialunas just croissants? Are they the same thing? I read someone that said something about sugar in them? They have sugar in their croissants there? That seems strange. I do understand about not wanting places to get too popular. My friend said...

Banking What is going on with the Blue dollar? Why is it going down?

My friend there says that locals spend money as fast as they can while it is worth money. It looks like the exchange rate is fairly stable since the new President took over. If anything the dollar seems like it is gaining ground. I hope by next month it goes even higher. That helps for tourists.

Thank you for the suggestion of Grabr @Betsy Ross. I suggested it to my friend and she successfully used it for several items. She said it was fairly quick and only took a week. Thanks!

Newcomer Is dog poop on sidewalks as bad as I read online in forums and blogs? Do people not pick up after their dogs?

Ok good to know that isn't the norm. She is always joking with me. She said this will be our first meal. She is always sending me strange stuff but she claims it's all real stuff going on there. She is in Villla Crespo. I am wondering though if people are setting up shop it must mean that...

Newcomer Is dog poop on sidewalks as bad as I read online in forums and blogs? Do people not pick up after their dogs?

My friend sent me this photo. This can't be too sanitary can it with all the dog poop in the streets? Is this typical there? Crazy they would cook food and sell it so low to the ground. Doesn't look too appealing to me.

Tourism will generate 1.5 million jobs in Argentina in 2024

Wow! That is great. My friend living there said it seems like tourism is slowing down the past few months. She said restaurants and cafes aren't as busy as before. Not sure if this has to do with prices going up.

Mileizuela situation - Gas shortage in Argentina

Wowzers. I keep delaying my trip for one reason or another. Are you sure July will be worse? Is this rioting or protests going on in touristy areas? Will I be ok in Recoleta or Palermo? I thought this stuff only goes on downtown? I hope things don't get worse. I will watch how things play out.

Mileizuela situation - Gas shortage in Argentina

What a relief that things will be normal soon. I couldn't believe how cold it is now. I thought it was still nice in May. July must be freezing when I'm coming! It sounds like a big recession now. I've been seeing tons of layoffs. It looks like lots of companies are laying off or firing...
