Banking What is going on with the Blue dollar? Why is it going down?

I hear you, macroeconomic predictions are most often wrong and nobody really knows. It's just fun to speculate and I'm no exception here!

Banking What is going on with the Blue dollar? Why is it going down?

Interesting, what does he base that on? My favorite "Big Mac Index" is always fun to compare currencies, says the peso is 15% overvalued: https://www.economist.com/big-mac-index

Apartment buying process confusing in Buenos Aires. Do I need to use the seller's realtor?

Feel like I should congratulate you for seeing two properties, I was there 10 days and saw none :) Like Johnny we decided to look at new developments through @BuySellBA. They are excellent communicators, as are the people they've recommended so far.

    Days 8-10 (and thanks!)

That's probably fair, El Preferido was definitely better The milanese at La Cabrera was as good as anywhere, but chicken is a lot easier to do well than steak. Also I forgot to compliment our excellent waitress at El Preferido, I had left my phone on the table and she chased us across the...

    Days 8-10 (and thanks!)

That part was interesting, most restaurants you could pay the bill with cards but tips are cash only, and we made a point of tipping well for everything so cash was nice to have. Other things cash was either necessary or very preferable and you felt naked without some in your pocket. Cambios...

    Days 8-10 (and thanks!)

Oh wow good for them! There's at least 3 or 4 others offering Boca experiences on AirBnB if someone wants to go, and you can also check out https://landingpadba.com/

    Days 8-10 (and thanks!)

Thanks! It was a fantastic trip, mostly pleasure though so we were on our own dime. It's so cheap though my only thoughts about money the whole time was finding cambios and Western Unions. Here's a link to Boca Juniors for Rodrigo: https://www.airbnb.ae/experiences/1293561

    Days 8-10 (and thanks!)

Bummer! Yeah we used AirBnB experiences again, there's a family with tickets and one of the brothers takes you to the game. Luciano & Rodrigo. Should have mentioned that because the experience would be difficult to get on your own. Rodrigo drove us right to the stadium and back (they know...

    Days 8-10 (and thanks!)

Two great experiences to end the trip: San Telmo and Boca Juniors. San Telmo on Sunday is something you don't want to miss and once again I'm grateful you all talked me into it. Such an extraordinary neighborhood with cobblestone streets and beautiful structures, and outdoor markets that seem...

Newcomer Buying Quality Running Shoes in Buenos Aires or Canada?

I went to Boca Juniors vs San Lorenzo yesterday and asked our guide about buying shirts/swag on the streets near the stadium vs official Adidas gear. He said the Adidas gear would be higher quality but we could find it in the US cheaper than at the Adidas store in BA.

Newcomer The Worst Winter in History

Oh dear, sorry to hear that. Guess our timing could not have been better, the weather was quite nice the whole 10 days we were here. Some chilly mornings but it always warmed up by midday.

    Day 6-7

Didn't notice really. I'd say it's not very noisy for such a massive city with so much going on all the time. I'm in Palermo Soho on the 25th floor of a high rise, so I expected some noise to filter up but at 9pm on Sunday it's totally quiet even with the window open. I did get woken up one...

    Iguazu!

I did not David, partly due to time but also I found the constant helicopter noise around the park really irritating and decided not to contribute to it. They've done such a wonderful job making Iguazu so accessible without ruining its natural beauty (if you've been to Niagara you appreciate...

    Iguazu!

The weather was fabulous, felt like Hawaii. I quickly glanced at the weather forecast before stuffing some clothes in a day pack, it said 18 to 30 so I assumed that was Fahrenheit because it's winter so I packed my puffy with hat and gloves, luckily also packed some workout clothes. I didn't...

You can say that again, what a special place that is.

    Iguazu!

Hi Betsy, actually FlyBondi was late on the way there. Aerolineas managed to arrive back a few minutes early, which was good because I met up with my pal for our first late night dinner and I was hanging on by my finger nails!

    Iguazu!

Thanks! I stayed at the Mercasur and saved $400-500. I rarely stay at the best places when traveling solo because I'm always on the move. My family however is a different story!
