What happens if Argentina gets too expensive? What are alternative cities/countries to move to when it's overpriced in Argentina?

This is why so many voted for Trump. They are feeling it and voted with their pocket books. Wow even in rural Tennessee??? I would have thought it was only in bigger cities but just goes to show you inflation is everywhere. What is high? Grocery stores? Restaurants? That is sad to hear. For...

G20 Summit: Argentina signed an agreement to export Vaca Muerta gas to Brazil

Damn! I just looked up these stocks. What a run! I wonder if it's too late to get in?

    Cleaning person recommendations

It's the same here in Dallas. Even companies that you hire tell me that it's difficult to find people now. Probably many of these people are illegals so if Trump really does deport everyone this will be a big problem as white people don't like to clean people's toilets. When I was in BA and in...

President Milei on Lex Friedman's Podcast

What i am amazed with is how he is sticking to his plan and doing what he said he would do. In dollars Argentina is expensive. I still don't think that is sustainable over the long period. But let's see.

What happens if Argentina gets too expensive? What are alternative cities/countries to move to when it's overpriced in Argentina?

I went to this place a few times to eat breakfast. Nice place in Palermo Chico. Wow prices are really moving up. The food portion you will spend that in the USA. Coffee here is still more but the rest of those prices is about the same now. Only difference is salaries in BA are far less than...

Newcomer Amazon - Shipping for just 5 USD

That would be hilarious if expats that are perma-tourists start going hog wild ordering stuff and then they got busted in a honeypot sting going to their places. :ROFLMAO: Probably won't happen but would be funny as they would have their addresses and passport numbers. I'm told they will use...

What happens if Argentina gets too expensive? What are alternative cities/countries to move to when it's overpriced in Argentina?

I just talked to some people I met in BA that are moving to Malaga. It sounds like a lot of people there. I hear inflation is slowing down but it's still going up. I don't understand how tourism will sustain itself if Argentina gets too expensive. I would think that people will stop coming and...

    Newcomer Black Friday in Argentina

Impressive numbers. I guess the economy isn't as bad as some people are saying with this kind of spending.

Verification of Origin of Funds for real estate purchase in Buenos Aires?

Wild that you would have to show anything to buy property. I would have thought as long as you had the money that is all that matters. I thought everything was cash in Argentina. But I guess it makes sense people would be worried about money laundering. I was wondering about that.

Banking Bank Account With Just a Passport and CDI Number (No DNI)

This seems crazy to me. Why would a bank object to any foreigner wanting to deposit money into an account? Seems crazy they would refuse to open an account without residency.

Food & Drink One of my favorite all-around restaurants for great steaks and gourmet food - El Preferido de Palermo

I came here to eat twice. It was actually one of my better meals. Wasn't cheap but food quality was better than most places. Honestly I didn't think the steaks were anything too special besides the expensive places. I had a great steak at Don Julio and here. I was severely disappointed at La...

Culture Shocks from Living in Argentina as an Expat?

Wow that doesn't seem like the norm to me. Looks like a major win. I've seen lots of coverage before in Argentina but not seen anything like that.

How can the food here be so bad ?

I was in BA for a month. Met many locals and they all had one thing in common and that is they had therapists. I never saw anything like that. It is very normal there @MickMolloy. I don't know the cost but some of the people that I met did not make much money so I don't think it can be...

Politics Why are there so many dismissals or resignations in Milei's cabinet?

But with the Libertarian standpoint wouldn't Libertarians be against opposing free trade?? Milei even is sending Argentina's pesos to get printed in China. Let's get realistic. It's a worthless vote and means nothing. Only 2 countries supporting it are Israel and the USA.

How can the food here be so bad ?

I posted while I was in BA. I didn't think the food was all that. People always say how great the steaks are there but I think they were overrated. I did go to Don Julio and it was good but I can get better at any steakhouse in Dallas. They way overcook steaks there. Almost to the point it is...

Economy What will the cost of living increases be for August 2024 (Utilities, transportation, rent, etc) ?

Agree about the cheap Ubers. I read today that taxi meters are going up 50% next week but I wonder if Uber prices will also go up. I just think maybe the Uber is supply and demand. There are so many Ubers in BA. I couldn't believe it. I never waited more than 3 minutes for an Uber. On...

Economy What will the cost of living increases be for August 2024 (Utilities, transportation, rent, etc) ?

It may not be as cheap as last year but prices are still a lot lower than many places around the world. Besides coffee which I found about the same price as back home, restaurants were still much cheaper. I think it's all relative.

Legal How do i know if my package is stopped at customs?

Beware if you're waiting for a package at customs they are on strike. I just sent a friend a package and it was supposed to arrive today and she can't get it as they are on strike!
