Banking What is going on with the Blue dollar? Why is it going down?

This is what it looks like. Under their current scheme it doesn't sound like the debt is going down. Many in Argentina think the same thing. I follow this guy on X and he has been sounding the alarm.

    AFIP Tax Amnesty

If the IRS ever did something like this people wouldn't fall for it. They know it was be some trap to catch people. Crazy that locals trust the government.

Paying for real estate in Buenos Aires with Bitcoin or crypto?

It sounds like cash is still king. I found cuevas where you send bitcoin and USDT and they charge about 2.5% to 3% fees. If the seller doesn't accept crypto directly which it sounds like no one is still willing to do this. Is it legal to bring in cash this way to Argentina?

I might come during that time. I don't know anyone well enough to get invited but what restaurants would you recommend @GlasgowJohn for Christmas or NYE?

Newcomer Fashion tips for my visit to BA

No one here cares what you are wearing. I saw some very colorful outfits while I was there. People don't care one way or another. It felt a lot like Spain there. At dinner some dress up but very casual for the most part.

Banking What is going on with the Blue dollar? Why is it going down?

It sounds like it is impossible to really know until the government gets rid of all capital controls. The level of intervention is too complex. I have been trying to study what the government is doing but difficult to track all of what they are doing. I read this and it sounds like there is a...

    Guide to Argentina Blog

I just checked out one of the pages and it doesn't sound like he understands the exchange rates after living in Argentina for 7 months. :ROFLMAO: He writes about the tourist dollar/rate and being able to get 1,600 pesos to $1 but he has that backwards. That rate isn't for tourists! That is...

Newcomer Passing on some advice about tourist SIM cards/chips

Just make sure to keep on eye on the prices. Sometimes they give you a promotional price a few months and then jack the price up even though they said it would be another price. Keep an eye out on your bill. That happened to a few expats that I met down there. I don't understand why they make it...

Best telos (sex hotels) in Buenos Aires?

Not so much worried about getting drugged as all my stuff stolen! I heard some horror stories about bringing people to your place and them stealing things once they were there. This would eliminate that. I went to a few clubs and asked for some girls numbers and I got a few Whatsapp but most...

Best telos (sex hotels) in Buenos Aires?

I read the other thread that mentioned telos. I didn't know about these. Seems like a great idea. I was in BA for a month and didn't come across any. A few times I picked up a girl at a club but was hesitant on bringing her back to my Airbnb. These could have came in handy. Have any of you...

I saw this interesting article but it lists the same link https://alberguestransitorios.com/ and that doesn't seem to open or maybe it only works in Argentina. https://wander-argentina.com/argentina-sex-hotels-telos/

Don't count Cristina Kirchner out for a comeback

I don't understand why people like her want to mess around with politics. She should just quietly retire somewhere with the tens of millions of $$$$ that she stole.

Paying for real estate in Buenos Aires with Bitcoin or crypto?

Yeah Argentina seems to prefer using stablecoins. I thought Argentina would be more ahead of the curve with crypto but just don't find that to be the case. Almost everywhere I went the locals still preferred paying for meals with cash. Just about every time I went to a nice place the tourists...

    Black people in Argentina

But I don't get it. They are protesting to illegally sell goods? Crazy. In Paris and other cities where I see these Africans selling counterfeit goods they always have a blanket and run when police come. In Argentina they are protesting to be able to sell them illegally? Are these foreigners...

You might be joking but that may actually be true! These days you never know. I never believed in any of this before but my eyes have been opened the past few years.

The Argentine entrepreneur who seeks to revolutionize the US real estate market with artificial intelligence.

@StatusNomadicus where you able to pay for your property in crypto in the end? How did that work out? Did the seller accept to be paid that way? What about realtor or lawyer? If not, how much is the fee to convert it to cash?
