Poverty has no limit in Argentina

I love Milei but I don't understand why he keeps raising the price of public transport. It's just so dumb politically. The transport system loses too much money but so what, all governments waste billions of dollars, take the money from somewhere else. You are just making the majority of...

Education This is how students study at UBA

And? They mostly all have chairs and seats, the environment is incredibly chaotic and with more organisaztion would easily accommodate everyone. It smacks of anti Milei propaganda and copying the USA where trans rights make up 85 % of all college courses and whatever subject you are actually...

    Question on Real Estate

Kind of related about 10 years ago I lived in whatever the area is behind the abasto shopping mall, between Cordoba and Corrientes up to like Estado de Israel. At the time I was sad the area was very ugly and run down. I lived in a beautiful new building which stood out among the shacks and...

How can the food here be so bad ?

My favourite food here is honestly just to get some juicy bife de chorizos from the butcher and cook it myself The fish and chips from Gibraltar bar is ( was ?) very good although that's a bit sad since it's hardly real Argentine food ha ha it just reminds me of home. I say was because the...

If you had an Argentine friend in a really bad situation

Living at home at 21, working 7 days a week earning a pathetic wage in pesos with the cost of everything going up, what advice could you realistically give then? Anything at all ? Or is it all just hopeless. And if they are asking you for advice but you know their situation is hopeless...

How can the food here be so bad ?

I love Argentina but how? Something as simple as a sandwhich de milenesa will be so dry and awful every bite is a choking hazard. Buy a simple "Milenesa con pure" and its so thin it almost doesn't exist. And this restaurant is rated 4.5 stars in google maps so Argentines actually think this...

Is "bolsa" honestly that hard of a word to understand? Native Argentine opinion?

Is "bolsa" honestly that hard of a word to understand? Native Argentine opinion?

I go to a supermarket today, buy a bunch of stuff, then ask for a "bolsa" to take it home The IDIOT cashier who left school at 5 plays dumb and says "What's a bolsa?" We keep arguing like this until eventually an Argentine girl behind me in line screams "BOLSA!!" then the scum gives it to...

Now I feel bad, I don't want to dissuade you from staying, to reiterate I've been coming to Buenos Aires 15 years and this is the only time I've been robbed.

Apart from a perma ban whats the worst they could do to you for overstaying?

Say you overstay 5 years then try to leave. Most likely they'll ban you from returning but what else? Can they issue you a massive fine? What if you say "no hay plata" ? Jail ?

Newcomer Is San Telmo/Monserrat a safe area?

My wallet with maybe $20 US worth of pesos and a cheap old cell phone The funny thing was after I was in shock and just stood there in the street, while the thief also just stood there. Then after a minute of awkward standing he pointed the gun at me again and told me angrily to keep on...

Newcomer Is San Telmo/Monserrat a safe area?

I have been robbed at gunpoint basically right on that corner lol. But that was at 2am walking home. There are lots of people in the street until like 9 - 10pm and I feel perfectly safe walking around until then, Later than that make sure you are travelling by taxi. I used to hang out at a...
