    "Jardin" Chinese restaurant in Recoleta

Might be a long shot but anyone know what happened to this place? My go to Chinese takeout for over 15 years. Not as good as NYC Chinese but not far off it.. they even had some actually spicey dishes rare for Argentina. Last time I went there was November now they have completely disappeared...

Food & Drink Choripan in BA

If I ever open a steak restaurant I'm going to steal this idea every steak will come with a tray of like 20 sauces all unlabelled no one will have a clue what they are, some will just be like supermarket ketchup with food colouring

Legal Any risk to constantly overstaying on tourist visa? How many times can you do border runs in Argentina?

The only downside to the Colonia visa run is how boring it is no offense. OK there's the old town with some really old looking buildings and stone paved roads that make it easy to imagine you are in Ancient Rome for about 20 minutes, Then what do you do for the next 6 hours? There is 1...

Yep that video is the Colonia Express boat that leaves from the San Telmo side, I last took it in December, Like you see in the video there is a large outdoor area you are free to go the whole trip, it's pretty nice really

Food & Drink Choripan in BA

I've only been to La Cabrera once many years ago and I remember they had this gimmick where they would give you many different sauces in little tiny bowls with your steak. Do they still do that? It was actually quite brilliant because all the expats I knew thought it was the greatest thing...

Food & Drink Choripan in BA

A place on the corner of my street sells a double sized choripan, large fries and 500ml coke for 3200 pesos. Just the drink would cost more back home. It seems like as the national food choripan is immune to inflation price extortions

Foreigners cannot bribe in Argentina, Chile or Uruguay. Thats a fact and anyone who tries it will be in a world of trouble. Anyone suggesting it is a scumbag looking to entrap people and sow chaos Further north up to Mexico etc is a different story but thats beyond the scope of this post

Legal Any risk to constantly overstaying on tourist visa? How many times can you do border runs in Argentina?

BTW if you are uncomfortable or allergic to dogs be careful taking the Colonja Express because in true South America fashion people will just let their dogs run all through the boat and do whatever they want people here don't give af

Legal Any risk to constantly overstaying on tourist visa? How many times can you do border runs in Argentina?

I went to Colonia in December and the boat was full of dogs, no exaggeration at least 30 dogs. Every size from little poodles to enormous dogs. One of them jumped up and slept on the seats next to me

Anyone else find the bread here awful

OK thanks but where in the microcentro can I buy a fully formed sandwhich with nice soft bread? I'm not interested in going to the supermarket and waiting in line 20 minutes then having to get the ingredients and make my own sandwich

Am I the asshole? You be the judge please

Yeah that was my post. Honestly if they just copy and pasted my exact post here I wouldn't mind its the changed details to make it seem like another arrogant scumbag tourist that is the problem. Could possibly have been done by a bitter Argentine who is mad about "rich" foreigners of which...

Legal Any risk to constantly overstaying on tourist visa? How many times can you do border runs in Argentina?

If it's your first time here and there's still more than 10 days until your visa expires just go to Colonia for a day there is 0 % they will care If you have multiple visa runs and are leaving the day before your visa expires that looks suspicious and they might stop you eventually Otherwise...

Legal Any risk to constantly overstaying on tourist visa? How many times can you do border runs in Argentina?

The 10 days thing is true. If you aren't within 10 days before your 90 day visa expires they won't even let you past the first check to enter the migration office about extending

Food & Drink Gibraltar Bar, Excellent craft beer

Honestly if the economy keeps going to hell I wouldn't live here with kids there's some angry people around. If you are single and have nothing to lose and you love the neighbourhood go for it. If I had kids I wouldn't bring them here

Am I the asshole? You be the judge please

I don't even care about Rico Suave copying my post I'm just angry he keeps inserting "I don't speak spanish" into every paragraph. Do you honestly think someone can survive La Boca without speaking spanish?? It's so hard to become fluent in a second language in your 20s give me some credit if...

Am I the asshole? You be the judge please

He had a white card with writing on it that he was shoving literally into my nose while saying "I'm disabled see????" I just assumed it was some official disability card but maybe its just part of his scam BTW I noticed in this thread you said you lived in Montevideo... I'm wanting go there...

Food & Drink Gibraltar Bar, Excellent craft beer

It's not bad, decent food I used to go there a lot when I lived in San Telmo in 2022 Something I noticed there with certain waitstaff if you tipped them a small amount up front while ordering your meal portion would be greatly increased. For a 500 up front tip you might get an extra 2-3k of...
