I was recommended to try the asado at this place, and I highly recommend it! Plus, the restaurant is pet-friendly. I saw many people with their pets, and the service is excellent! https://maps.app.goo.gl/sgGomKjuqLcachvr9

Newcomer Regimiento Patricios in Plaza de Mayo - Memorable (First Saturday of every month)

It's free, my only recommendation is to arrive a while before it starts to get a good spot and be able to see the entire event in detail. I got there at 10:30 am.

Newcomer Regimiento Patricios in Plaza de Mayo - Memorable (First Saturday of every month)

Since I learned that starting from May, every first Saturday of the month, the Patricios Regiment would showcase the patriotic event of the changing of the guard, I've wanted to go. The grenadiers are an iconic symbol of this country and truly represent a significant part of this culture. So...

Newcomer What are the most interesting aspects of Argentine culture for you?

You never get bored here; there are always cultural events, whether free or not, theater shows, fairs, museums... there's always something to do. I really like the landscapes and the architecture, and I enjoy going for bike rides, something I didn't do in my country. I also love soccer, and here...

Economy Significant Increase in the Price of Bread and "Facturas"

The cost is now over $2,200/$2400 per kilogram and over $5,500/$6000 per dozen for "facturas". Pastries or "facturas" are not essential, but bread is for many families who put it on their table every day...

Economy Milk consumption fell by almost 20%

I think milk should be considered an essential product. I read that consumption has dropped and that people are opting for cheaper products, but what could replace milk? This is indeed concerning. I hope everything returns to normal because there are foods or products that are irreplaceable...

Newcomer What’s this new trend of wearing rubber ducks on your head?

I've read that they are a big trend in Japan and Peru. They arrived in Argentina and started in Chinatown, but now they are spreading to other neighborhoods, cities, and provinces. 🦆 https://www.pagina12.com.ar/737361-los-patitos-en-la-cabeza

Newcomer Why is Argentina experiencing a rise in costs?

Why do you think certain prices, such as those for food, are as high as they are in European countries? It's really crazy.

Newcomer Why is nobody speaking the truth about BA?

I have a friend who's also staying in Buenos Aires and refuses to stay anywhere other than Palermo. He only goes out to eat in Palermo or San Telmo and always complains about how expensive Buenos Aires is. I stayed in Caballito, and yes, inflation is happening, but coming from the United States...

Newcomer Passing on some advice about tourist SIM cards/chips

You're correct. The Claro pack only includes data, whereas Personal packs come with both data and calls. Both companies are reputable and offer good choices! To utilize some of that generous data allowance, you can also make calls using WhatsApp, as it's widely used by businesses in Argentina.

Newcomer Passing on some advice about tourist SIM cards/chips

Claro is the sole provider offering the "Tourist prepago sim" package priced around 9000 pesos, payable upon activation. It's valid for 30 days and can be recharged thereafter. Movistar may register you, but often they refuse ("our system does not accept foreign IDs, only DNIs, etc."). I agree...
