Javier Milei’s government will monitor social media with AI to ‘predict future crimes’

I actually think installing cameras everywhere is not a bad idea if it can stop crime. Saw this and great they got the thief!

Is buying a property and listing a fake price normal in Buenos Aires?

That is crazy that people cheat like that. No wonder Argentina is having so many problems.

Percentage of bald men by countries

Same! I just went to Istanbul and my hotel was full of tourists getting it done. Same at airport. I was surprised. I had no idea it was like that.

Don't count Cristina Kirchner out for a comeback

Exactly. Many people can finally feel change for the first time in their lives. It’s why he is so popular with the younger generation.

Newcomer My wife (Argentinian) claims you can live "well" on $1500 a month in Argentina. True?

@StatusNomadicus wow that is not much at all. You must budget well. Can you break out your spending on that $1000 to $1500 per month? How often are you going to restaurants?

Newcomer My wife (Argentinian) claims you can live "well" on $1500 a month in Argentina. True?

Besides some grocery items what has stayed stable in dollars since last year? Transportation, restaurants, utility bills, cafes especially. Coffee is much more expensive compared to last year. All my friends complaining about their apartment expenses in dollars going up. Also healthcare...

Banking What is going on with the Blue dollar? Why is it going down?

Most people here are very friendly and appreciate tourists and expats. The economy is horrible and almost everyone appreciates all of these people. I have run into 1 or 2 that seem to be giddy that expats that moved here because it was cheap are opportunistic.

Javier Milei Launches Bitcoin Revolution in Argentina

Thank you @StatusNomadicus. I feel the same way with all these taxes that we are paying in the USA. The amount we are sending to Ukraine boggles my mind!

Argentina recession leaves once-bustling Buenos Aires restaurants hustling for customers

@dai how much is Starbucks now there? I generally don’t go here in the US but actually went more there. Generally I don’t think the coffee there is too good in most places. I am planning to come back end of this year but may go to Rio instead. Or maybe Spain. I don’t understand how coffee...

Argentina recession leaves once-bustling Buenos Aires restaurants hustling for customers

This is an eye opener how slow things are. Have they lowered their ridiculous prices at all? Places here don’t seem to like to lower their prices.

I don't care what they say about me as long as they spell the name of the country Argentina right.

That is a sad statistic. Where is this taken from? About the 9/10 people in debt?

Newcomer Who Is Responsible for Property Insurance?

Fires sound like they are rare but I guess they do happen. Just saw this fire in Retiro in the news. Not sure something like that happens. Looks like the water tank.

Argentina Rentista Visa for 2024? What is the minimum income now for retirement visa for Argentina?

This is a great article. Thanks for sharing. I agree with this. I used to buy designer luxury purses and shoes. I used to think there what was important but once I flipped my thinking on what is important, my life greatly improved and simplified.

Wooohoooo!!!!! One PR down, one to go!

It does seem like everyone in migracones is either corrupt or just lazy or both. At least with all these layoffs and the government downsizing maybe these employees will actually try to help people or lose their jobs. Are immigration lawyers just paying bribes to migraciones staff? What...

Politics Did Milei make a mistake in choosing his Vice President?

Seems the classic case of two type A personalities. Both very strong personalities and neither side wants to back down. That type of scenario usually doesn’t end well.

Argentina Rentista Visa for 2024? What is the minimum income now for retirement visa for Argentina?

Agree with this. I think locals are shocked at just how inefficient things are for foreigners too. They know it’s red tape for them but somehow they think we would have it easier. Plus some of my friends here see everyone from Venezuela and Colombia that can legally live and work here and...

A very wise choice to skip the trip to Mexico. https://mldiario.com/por-que-milei-cancelo-su-presentacion-en-la-cpac-de-mexico/
