Wooohoooo!!!!! One PR down, one to go!

Sure enough after I checked back a few min ago, now it's in 'Embalaje' stage. There must have been a glitch in the system. I hope my friend will finally get her DNI this time.

    Comical reading BAexpats.org Threads!

I guess 'private' means nothing or has a total different meaning in their book. 🤷‍♀️

    Comical reading BAexpats.org Threads!

My account there was suspended to read-only for a while after I sent a private message to one prominent member about this new forum. Go figure!

Visas How complicated is it to obtain residency in Argentina?

@Vince This is the latest citizenship procedure. A few of my friends are doing it now. They slightly changed the procedure. Last year when I started the procedure, I had to bring all the docs in person and they did the scanning for you before giving you the expediente number containing Juzgado...

Wooohoooo!!!!! One PR down, one to go!

@StatusNomadicus My expediente became 'resuelto' on Feb 9 and by Mar 3 I received the plastic DNI in my hand. My friend's expediente became 'resuelto' on Aug 19 and now more than a month later it is still showing 'Migraciones esta analizando tu tramite'. So, you're not alone. I don't know what's...

Wooohoooo!!!!! One PR down, one to go!

I'm not surprised really. I remember submitting the same documents twice too. I think I mentioned it in one of my posts about PR. I check my friend's IDtramite for her every day but it still shows 'Migraciones esta analizando tu tramite'. I don't remember my IDtramite being analizado that long...

@Vero @Larry Guess what? I bought that same brand of coconut milk from a Chinese Dietetica near my house for 3,300 a pop last week (the cheapest in barrio chino I found of the same brand was 3450) and on Sat I went back to the same Dietetica and the price already went up to 3,700/can LOL. Well...

    Medical Dental implant in CABA

They kinda explained roughly that after the extraction I need to wait 3 months and see if I need the bone graft but it looks like I didn't so that's why they already put the titanium post into my jawbone last month. Now I think the hard part is over. From what I researched online, the next step...

    Medical Dental implant in CABA

I'm still in the process. After the tooth extraction, I had to wait 3 months. About 3 weeks ago I went in for the procedure. They drilled my jaw and put in the titanium implant. Now I have to wait a few more months. My next appointment is in the beginning of Dec. The thing is they don't really...

    Newcomer Is Buenos Aires safe?

For us Phuket is very expensive. It doesn't matter if you're foreigners or locals, you pay the same price when you go there. Alcohol is generally expensive especially wine due to high import tax. However, earlier this year the govt announced the tax cut so the next time I go back I expect...

    Newcomer Is Buenos Aires safe?

Hate to break it to you but CABA is a bubble. Conurbano on the other hand is the real world I suppose. In the past year, two of my partner's family members got their car robbed at gunpoint (one of the family members is a police officer out of uniform) and yesterday as my suegros were leaving...

I hear you about the heat. I'm not used to it myself but everywhere is air-conditioned so that makes it more manageable.

The monthly fee varies according to the size of your apt. Mine is considered cheap it is about $0.90/sq.m./month (around $600/year). But I think the average per sq.m now elsewhere is around $1.2/sq.m./month depending on how fancy your apt is and where it is. Some fancy ones are more expensive of...

    Newcomer Is Buenos Aires safe?

Yes, most apartments for rent come fully furnished. For a studio or one bedroom apt at my complex it costs around $60,000. The room I have is being averagely sold around $120,000.

Yes, I bought a black Phillips procesador from Coto. It comes with the entire set of slicers etc etc and a blender. If I am not mistaken the model is Multiprocesadora Alimentos Philips Hr7301/90 750w. The higher the watts the better.

    Newcomer Is Buenos Aires safe?

Hard to say because BKK is huge and it caters to all sorts of lifestyles. Apartments are cheaper and more modern with nice amenities and facilities and there's even an oversupply. I'd say for a not so fancy lifestyle, you could live comfortably with $2,000/month or even less (rent included)...
