    Citizenship rejected!

That must be frustrating. But other than voting you don't really lose any benefits do you @Jakoval and being able to fly in on an Argentine passport. Is there any other hidden benefits that you get?

Do Buenos Aires expats easily get scammed and gullible?

Surprised to hear this. If anything you would think that foreigners coming to a foreign country would stay clear of shady type investments. Can't believe there are multiple members that this happened to. And if there are 2 or 3 admitting it happened to them then there must be many people out...

Poverty has no limit in Argentina

I think the situation with poverty really is decreasing. Back before Milei started at the end of the month the grocery stores would be totally empty but now I see them busier even at the end of the month. Prices keep going up but at least things are a bit more stable up until now. I am not...

Are Argentines worried about a Possible Bank Run (Corralito 2.0)?

Wow I have a dollar account at Galicia but I didn't know you could take out that much at once. So you just go to the ATM and no problems taking out $1,000 USD at once? I will have to try this. I am not sure if Galicia's withdrawal limit is that high.

Banking Credit Card real-world rate "MEP" transaction repo (Dec2023)

DNI is key. I could never deal with not having a local bank account or not using Mercado Libre. MODO deals are too good to pass up too. And Mercado Pago deals.

Skype Is Shutting Down – Best Alternatives?

Yes I always read some reviews and very good. That is a good sign and I am sure they will keep improving. Is Teams just like Zoom? I would assume so. I never heard of it. Does it work well? I wonder why Microsoft doesn't just add in the functionality to call landlines or cellphones. Seems like...

Any guesses where we think the Blue dollar exchange rate will head in 2024?

Is there any websites that have real time crypto rates? I see the websites use it but today is a holiday. Where are you seeing updated crypto rates? I guess it makes sense the blue or MEP or CCL would lag the crypto rate.

Skype Is Shutting Down – Best Alternatives?

Same. I have $19 that I have never used and will try to use it. The only thing I use my Skype for is to get bank texts since I ditched my cellphone service. With WhatsApp I don't really need to pay to call anyone as all my friends use WhatsApp. Skype was great for what it was. I am surprised...

IMF Agreement: The Government Will Send a DNU to Congress to Obtain Support

Many of the Milei fanboys seem like they would support him no matter what he does or says. Kind of funny that he platformed on closing the Central Bank and now he seems to love it. I wonder if Milei forces the IMF loan with DNU and without support of Congress if a future government coming along...

What happens if Argentina gets too expensive? What are alternative cities/countries to move to when it's overpriced in Argentina?

What bothers me is people that complain all the time when it gets expensive but living it up while locals are suffering yet they have a strong blue dollar. Sometimes I think people don't like BA for BA and just here when it's cheap. Annoying.

Banco Nación to launch new car loans for the masses

Does Argentina use credit scoring? Is there an equivalent to FICO like we have in the USA?

Trip Reports Argentina Versus Colombia to Retire

Speaking of Taco Bell I saw this online. I am not sure it would do well here. Locals don't really have much of an interest in anything other than bland food. They hate spicy food. Looks like they are trying to bring Taco Bell to Argentina.

How can the food here be so bad ?

I agree on quality. This is where my local friends buy beef when they do asados. I asked them if the price difference was worth it and they said it is night and day vs. others. All grass fed and their own ranches. I didn't know about genetics but they say that has a big part of quality in the...

Is there a limit to how much you can recieve at Western Union?

I have sent in $2,000 USD before to WU and I didn't have problems. They are right some might have annual limits but I have never sent that much to hit that ceiling. Also, if you're buying a computer here you might want to check out Grabr. Some friends used that to buy phones or laptops and...

    Newcomer Starlink in Argentina

Thank you for coming back and updating. Glad it's working so well. I will let my friend know it is working great for you.

Is crime getting worse? Is safety getting more complicated during this recession?

I saw this guy getting beat up by the Leftists in BA. He is literally getting chased for blocks and getting punched. Aren't there police around? Aren't people afraid of getting arrested? I guess maybe installing cameras all over the city isn't a bad idea.
