Interesting. I heard mate was getting more popular in the USA and around the world for it's health benefits. I wonder if mate will catch on in the USA. Maybe the USA will do a deal with Argentina to get a free trade agreement done.
 
Jungle Jim's is very much an exception to the rule. They take a lot of pride in their selection of Latin American products, and try to get the hard-to-find stuff. An Argentinian friend of mine lives near there and she loves it for that reason.

Wow is the owner Argentine? Never seen much stuff from Argentina in the US before.

From what I've seen mate in the US is pretty much limited to prepared/bottled, or as an ingredient in energy drinks. I'd love to get some loose leaf mate just to try it, but no stores around me sell it.

Is Jungle Jim's a chain? Just in a few cities? I never heard of it before.

I have seen Mate on Amazon.com but not in stores.
