After a sharp rise during the last quarter, the costs for remodeling kitchen and bathroom have adjusted somewhat downwards due to the appreciation of the dollar.
Currently, to remodel the bathroom and kitchen of a standard apartment, it would be necessary to invest $12,438,975, equivalent to 9,079 dollars in bills according to the blue dollar selling price at the end of July of this year.
Measured in pesos, the cost of remodeling increased by 342% in one year (compared to July 2023), while in dollars they increased by 36.7% in the same period.
Compared to the peak in January 2018, the cost of remodeling both rooms is currently 45% lower than that period, obviously always considering the costs in blue dollars.
During this last quarter, costs measured in American currency fell by 13.55%, basically due to an improvement in the dollar exchange rate, which went from USD 1,040 to USD 1,370 in 3 months.
For the purposes of the cost budget for the remodeling of the bathroom and kitchen, the following considerations were taken into account.
Kitchen:
English: Surface: 5.6m2 - Height: 2.5m.Demolition, removal of coatings, chipping of complete plaster and existing furniture.
Includes labor and materials for changing supply and drain pipes (Acqua System, Duratop).
Replacement of Gris Mara granite countertop, FV Dúo single-control faucet, under-counter and cupboard furniture covered in melamine.
Change of gas pipes (Sigas thermofusion). Supply of Orbis 14lts. water heater to Domec 0.58cm button panel and stove.
Electricity, wiring and supply outlets. Installation of light fixtures.
Installation of San Lorenzo floor and wall ceramic tiles.
General painting.
Bathroom:
Surface: 3.75m2 - Height: 2.5m.Chipping of complete coatings and plastering, removal of existing fixtures. Labor and materials for changing water supply pipes and drains (Acqua System, Duratop). Replacement of Ferrum Pilar line fixtures, whirlpool bathtub, FV Alessia taps, FV accessories, vanity and mirror.
Electricity, wiring and power supply outlets. Installation of light fixtures.
Installation of San Lorenzo floor and wall ceramic tiles.
General painting.
