In November the cost increased above the CPI. Analysis and monthly series since August 2008
On the first business day of December, constructing a building of just over 1,000 total m2 in 8-story horizontal property, had an initial budget that reached almost 600 million pesos.

The construction cost measured in pesos increased by 14.06%, while in dollars, taking the exchange rate in relation to the first business day of November, it increased by 9.29% during that month.

Thus, taking the price of the parallel market of the US currency, the cost per salable m2 reached 781 US$ and the total value to be invested in the construction of the typical building was slightly above 616 thousand dollars.

The average cost in dollars of the last three years (December 2020 - December 2023) was 674 U$S/m2, 10.13% lower than the three previous years (November 2017 - November 2020) when it averaged 750 U$S/m2. In relation to the initial month of the last triennium (December 2020), the current cost increased 47.5%, going from US$ 529/m2 to 780 at the beginning of the last month of this 2023, although the term should be taken into consideration. where construction was closed and then limited by confinement in 2020 and during which the sharp drop in cost due to devaluation could not be effectively transferred to the works.
