There are legislators who will vote against Javier Milei's measure, but they propose express initiatives to give a nod to the Government. Education as an essential service and labor reform, among the options

The senatorial ruling party is already preparing, for next week, to suffer a potential rejection of the mega Decree of Necessity and Urgency (DNU) that deregulates the economy . While at this time it is being decided whether officials will defend it the day after tomorrow, in the bicameral commission of Legislative Procedure, Victoria Villarruel seeks to advance, discreetly, an agreement with the anti-Kirchnerist opposition to give the green light to a package of friendly laws. norm, in order to cushion the impact of a possible defeat.

During the past month, Kirchnerism asked the head of the Upper House to go to the premises to reject the mega DNU. Protected by the regulations, the Vice President did not set a date and delayed the treatment of the issue. The situation worsened in recent days, when non-Christian opposition legislators also asked to meet to debate the Government's measure.

Under this scenario, Villarruel and Senate authorities analyzed last week, prior to the speech given by Javier Milei to inaugurate a new period of ordinary sessions, the possibility of carrying out an express activation of various commissions to push laws friendly to the mega DNU such as, for For example, a mini labor reform, the declaration of education as an essential service and the usual dispute over rent , among other issues.

The original plan proposed by the anti-K opposition contemplated speeding up the commissions this week and suggested that the ruling party speed up rulings. For example, one of the options was to sign an office with two labor points that stopped justice regarding the mega DNU: extension of the trial period and a new calculation of compensation . In fact, the Supreme Court ruled on this last point days ago.

Another important law to approve and quickly turn over to Deputies - they also move there, although in a more disorganized way - is related to the declaration of education as an essential service to corner Kirchnerism and its allies, the unions . An opinion was also evaluated to repeal and roll back the rental system to 2019 , that is, before the laws that Macristas and a large part of the then opposition accompanied between 2019-2020, and the last one in force -before the DNU- of Alberto Fernández

The problem that the ruling party encountered in the last few hours is that, to form all the commissions and put them into operation, seven ruling party legislators and 32 from the anti-K opposition have to reach a consensus, with a few senators and many willing to work. others who demand, with an air of superiority, to be in several places at the same time, or stellar presidencies.

With tight times, the mooted move will not prosper these days. However, Villarruel hopes to have a final agreement sealed by Friday for the integration of all the commissions, in order to activate them only next week.

While waiting for confirmation from the bicameral and the officials who, in principle, would be there this Thursday to defend the mega DNU, the ruling party is analyzing a session next week, unless it takes a magic card under its arm and can delay the matter. If this does not happen, the rule will land the premises and, as an incentive, the ruling party could take the sanction of the law that improves the fight against money laundering, which already has an opinion .

For the mega DNU to lose validity, it needs the rejection of both Chambers, something that never happened. If the Senate gives him the thumbs down, his final fate will depend on the Deputies. Hence the rush of the non-Kirchnerist opposition to vote for laws friendly to the norm in observation not only of Congress, but also of Justice. It only remains to know if the Executive agrees to open this window, or if it considers that Milei's measure can easily lose at the legislative level to ratify a conflict that, in its view, is an asset to sustain. Even at any price .
