It's great to see local companies having to compete. This will open a lot of competition with Mercado Libre and Amazon.

Frávega, a popular Argentine appliance store chain, is expanding its services to include the sale of international products starting next Monday. This new option will be available through its online store, allowing customers to purchase imported products via international shipping.

We should see more and more stores offering this option to compete with Mercado Libre and Amazon.

Customers will be able to pick up their orders at any of Frávega's 101 branches or have them delivered directly to their homes with door-to-door service.

International products will be clearly marked on the online platform with the label "international purchase."

This service was previously offered by Frávega during Macri's government but was interrupted in 2022 due to currency restrictions (CEPO)

A CUIL with Fiscal Key number 3 is required to make purchases.

The purchase limit is up to USD 3,000 per shipment.

Each CUIL/CUIT has a maximum of 5 shipments per year.

Up to 3 identical products can be purchased.

The maximum weight per shipment is 50 kilograms

Prices are displayed in Argentine pesos and include all logistics costs and taxes.

The estimated delivery time is 20 to 25 business days after the purchase is made.

Products have a return period of 10 calendar days from receipt. It is important to note that international products do not allow for invoice type A.

This initiative by Frávega aligns with the trend of other Argentine companies that are expanding their offerings to include international products, facilitating consumers' access to a wider variety of items.

This is great news!! I ordered a few things on Amazon but it is taking forever. I wonder if this will be any better. I like the idea of picking up at the store leaving the burden on them and not having to hassle with customs. Amazon says door to door service but I have had problems with packages. Others are reporting they are getting them ok. I can't wait for the ability just to buy stuff and pay 21% iva.

The downside for me moving back to the US is my family is ordering something on Amazon.com every single day! Made worse by Christmas shopping. We are getting about 10 packages a day every single day. Oh the joys of Amazon! Living in Argentina so long made me forget how easy everything is here in the States to order something.

Ha! No kidding. We literally get packages every single day. I can't remember a day we didn't get something from Amazon. It feels a little silly just ordering paperclips, paper, you name it. Amazon Prime has to be the best invention in the world. Works so flawlessly. Hopefully Argentines get to experience total efficiency. They made a lot of strides with Mercado Libre but still painful sometimes.

I really miss Amazon! I can't use Mercado Libre because I don't have a DNI. When are they going to change that???? They are missing out on a LOT of sales!
