Guided Tour of the Planetarium
Completely renovated, the Planetarium is one of the city's must-see attractions.
The Planetarium is the main astronomy dissemination center in the city. It has a hemispherical projection room with three hundred and sixty reclining seats and a dome twenty meters in diameter where nearly 8,900 stars, planets and satellites of the universe are reproduced, thanks to an impressive equipment (unique in Latin America) that contains six Sky projectors. Skan with 8K resolution, indicating that the dome contains 38 million pixels.
Its five-story building also has a museum and a small secondary projection room, in addition to housing a collection of meteorites from northern Argentina. In the adjacent lake there is the sculpture Surprised, by the Italian Nicolás A. Ferrari and, a few meters away, a monolith evocative of the Polish wise man Nicolás Copernicus.
When?
Tuesday to Friday at 12 and 2 p.m. Saturdays and Sundays at 12, 2 and 4:30 p.m.

50 Anniversary
During 2017, on the occasion of its 50th anniversary, its building - declared Historical and Cultural Heritage of the City - was restored and enhanced, respecting its original physiognomy and aesthetics. From the park it is possible to enjoy 50 meters of translucent LED screens and a remote management system so that the Planetarium is illuminated in a coordinated way with six other key points of Buenos Aires: the Obelisk, the Monument of the Spanish, the Pyramid of May , the Puente de la Mujer, the Floralis Genérica and the Monumental Tower. In the museum on the first floor, a complete technological revolution was carried out that includes a robot that interacts with visitors, touch screens with astronomical information, virtual reality, 4D simulators and augmented reality games.
