If a cartonero crashes what happens?

Today, I witnessed an incident at the intersection of Cordoba and Pueyyredon involving a cartonero who had piled a significant amount of cardboard and recyclable materials onto a metal cart. Unfortunately, he lost control of the cart, which collided forcefully with a parked vehicle, causing extensive damage to the sides and windows.

This led to a considerable altercation with the car's owner. I am intrigued to know what typically occurs in such situations, particularly when the cartonero likely lacks the financial means to cover the damages?

This would default to the person's automobile insurance that would cover it. If they don't have automobile coverage they are probably out of luck. The court system doesn't work too well and very slow. So odds are they are SOL.

I have witnessed over the years many cars hitting other cars and just leaving. It is very common for people to hit autos and just leave without a note. I also see people parallel parking and just hitting the car in back and front to fit their cars.

Like Betsy said, no way the cartonero will have the money to pay for it. Hopefully that car has automobile coverage.

I see that all the time. I have witnessed a lot of people damaging other cars while parking. I would never park on the street in BA! The reason why parking garages are so expensive!

The sad thing is the cartonero didn't flee he actually stuck around and looked distraught at what happened. But he was wearing rags that have probably never been washed and clearly was very poor so there was nothing he could do. A sad situation all around. Just another reason to ask why God created a world of so much pain and suffering

I have seen almost the same thing happen with a cartonero that crashed his cart into a motorcycle and knocked it over. It suffered a lot of damage. He just shrugged his shoulders and went about his business. There is nothing anyone can do. Insurance would need to cover it. Insurance rates are going up tremendously. So are license plate fees. I'm glad I don't own a car but all my friends that do are complaining.

I don't own a car either. I started taking the subway all the time when I moved here. I actually got sick a lot at first because in the USA I always drive a car so my immune system wasn't used to mass transit lmao

It sounds like owning a car there wouldn't make sense. My friends tell me they use Didi or Uber everywhere or just walk. They tried the subway but didn't like it at all. They are actually moving out of BA. They say it's gotten too expensive. I am seeing some posts from expats and it looks like everyone is complaining about how expensive it is now. Crazy how things can change so quickly in only a few months.

I would get furious if some bum crashed into my car. I guess the owner is screwed.

This is what insurance is for. Unfortunately this is common in BA. An insurance policy should pay for this type of damage. Typically most people have uninsured motorist coverage in BA. It is common for people to hit and just leave.

Jenn you are vsicous!! Just when I thought I couldn't love you anymore. I would literally clear every inch of dog poop from the sidewalks just to get you to visit for 3 days

If you would clear the dog poop for me on the street everyday of my Airbnb that I booked then maybe just maybe I would think about keeping my trip. I have an Airbnb for January but how do you think the mosquitos would be in January? I heard many people in BA are not in BA in January so does that mean there would be more or less dog poop on the sidewalks?

Mosquitos will be extreme in January no doubt
