Politics Is the Pope a Peronist? 🫨

I think it's great that the government isn't stepping into the confrontation. Like we say here, "to foolish words, deaf ears" :)

Sounds like the President has calmed down quite a bit. Before he won the election he was pretty harsh on the Pope.

Well the Pope also thinks Javier Milei is the devil. Maybe they will meet one another in hell one day?

I always figured you were a local because I've never met a militant extremist USA Peronist before. I know plenty of locals who are always ready to give a 30 minute speech on the glory and doctrine of Peronism. How did you end up with this world view ?

BTW I don't mean any criticism or malice from this question just genuinely curious 🤔 I have spent many hundreds of hours in late night bars debating Peronism with fanatics it's just an intellectual curiosity

Larry isn't a local. I read one of his posts before saying he was from another country. He said he wasn't American either. I can't remember. Maybe it was somewhere in Europe. But I have met expat Peronists before. It might just stem from them having a better life with the economy in misery and strong blue dollar. I'm not sure.

That's surely it, if Milei can return Argentina to glory it will spell disaster for many bottom feeding expats so they pray for CFK to come back and destroy the country once and for all

There are a lot of bottom feeders here. I have met a few that don't seem to care about Argentina but only care how expensive it is for them. Not all of them. Some do genuinely believe the country is worse now. I was having coffee with someone in my building from the UK that believes poverty situation is worse now. He didn't strike me as the bottom feeder type. Nice man. He believes that by this time next year it will be clear that this experiment isn't working with the new President. Time will tell.

Most of the bottom feeders leave Argentina once it starts getting more expensive. Seen that pattern several times over the past. Been reading some expats complain online about more expensive prices compared to last year. These types skip town once it gets more expensive. Then on to another city they can afford.

I don't remember hearing the Pope complain when past President's drove Argentina into the ground.

To be fair, they weren't pepper spraying protesting senior citizens either. Not arguing they shouldn't be blocking the street but that probably is what the Pope is referring to.

That is interesting to hear. Why is that? What don't they like about him? Seems like so many Catholics have strayed away from the church the past few years. Too many scandals with the church.
She's never liked him due to his political leanings. Must admit most of what she says about religion and politics goes in one ear and straight out the other with me. I don't give either topic much thought....got nicer things to occupy my mind with. 😁

Got it. Thanks. I don't care much about religion either. I remember a time when I was younger that all Catholics really revered the pope and looked up to him but those days seem to be gone.
