Javier Milei’s approval drops as Argentina’s middle class cuts expenses to make ends meet: Poll

Milei's approval ratings keep going down month after month. According to this it's only 35% of people that think he is doing a good job. Everyone you talk to has had to make sacrifices and cut down their budget.

Yes finally some people I know that voted for him are admitting that they made a mistake. The approval ratings will go down more as time goes on. Once the devaluation happens and prices go back up he is done.

But be honest. No matter how things improve you would probably be complaining because it wasn't better. What irks me is that all of you Peronistas can't admit how bad things would be if Massa won. If Massa won and things were horrible you would have said that things would have been even worse with Milei.

The dollar is flat since Milei took over, they are building reserves and building up a surplus, cutting expenses for the first time and a huge drop in inflation. It's almost as if you all are wishing for the misery of Argentina just from MDS (Milei Derangement Syndrome).

Same thing in the USA with TDS and Trump but it looks like he should win.

I agree with you Wally but time is not on his side.

The approval ratings just depend on who you ask or which page/newspaper you read. Half my friends that hate him send me bad news and half my friends that support him send me good news.

Here is a recent report that a Pro-Milei supporter mate sent me and the numbers still look ok. 52.8% from the survey believe the country is heading in the right direction. That is a high # with all the austerity going on.

Here, opinions are divided, but what's clear is that the majority likes Milei; otherwise, he wouldn't have won with 56% of the votes, or at least most people prefer him. The world is talking about him and his administration; in fact, he's adored in Australia! 😅

Hopefully that stays up. Lots of local friends that I know said things are more difficult than ever for them.

Milei's approval ratings in Buenos Aires Province are dropping. In a survey 60% of Buenos Aires residents disapprove of his management. In CABA it gets worse. The figure is 63.3% disapproval. Even Kilcilllof has higher numbers.

While I don't think he will need the helicopter to leave office. I don't think he will get reelected either. Need to see how elections are next year. That will tell us more.

@Avocado , I reckon he will throw cash about prior to the mid term elections next year.

That will give him breathing space and with the opposition still divided be will be relected.
He defiintely needs to do that. He really needs to come to the middle more. No reason to be so confrontational. That isn't a good style with so many people on the other side. People voted him in because they were tired of all the corruption. He can't alienate so many potential allies.

He is too much of an ideologue. Argentines don't care if he aligns with international right-wing leaders. He is misinterpreting his mandate. People voted for economic change. He needs to tone his rhetoric and political approach more. People don't care about his tough stance on China or Brazil. They just want the country to be healthy. He also has to learn how to read the people and what is important to them. Public support for public universities is very strong in Argentina. That is not a hill to die on.

I am happy with most of what he is doing but he needs to be smarter.
