The president left the holding of the call that he had made during the opening of ordinary sessions subject to the approval of the so-called Bases law. The reasons given by the head of state and what he said about his relationship with Victoria Villarruel

avier Milei spoke about the May Pact

President Javier Milei defended this Sunday the economic reforms that he will soon send to Congress again and, in the midst of the negotiations, he warned the governors that, “if the Omnibus Law is not approved, the May Pact makes no sense.”

“The pact is basically the 10 pillars for the functioning of the economy, but that is linked to chapter four (of the project package) and that, in turn, is related to everything else,” he said.

Likewise, he assured that “there are a lot of discrepancies” with the provincial leaders regarding fiscal issues, but that his management “is willing to listen to everyone and give the discussion, as long as the zero deficit is not touched, which is not trivial".

During an extensive television interview, the national president also ratified his questions about the tax increase ordered by the government of the province of Buenos Aires , and criticized Governor Axel Kicillof , pointing out that the measure raised exorbitant increases in taxes, and the classified as expropriation.

The President again targeted Kicillof (Aglaplata)

The head of state assured that he was “totally in agreement” with the position advanced by the national deputy of La Libertad Avanza, José Luis Espert , an ally of his administration, who had called to disobey the payment of the increases ordered by the Kicillof administration. . “Professor Espert has a good point,” said Milei, in dialogue with journalist Luis Majul for LN+ .

“It is expropriatory, it has no counterpart in public goods. Kicillof gives nothing, in terms of security, the province is a bloodbath; In education, student achievement is truly very poor; In health, we already saw the scam of the State present during the pandemic, in which, if we had done things like a mediocre country we would have had 30 thousand deaths, and we had 130 thousand," the President reiterated.

In that line of reasoning, Milei said that the disposition of the Buenos Aires government could unleash a crisis “similar to the one generated by 125”, in reference to the 2007 resolution that increased agricultural withholdings and generated a crisis of magnitude between the then government of Cristina Kirchner and the countryside.

“What a coincidence, that's why I say that Lousteau and Kicillof are similar. In fact, many of the great rebellions and most complicated situations in the history of humanity have to do with fiscal issues,” he added.

Ironically, the president compared Kicillof with Senator Martín Lousteau, president of the Radical Civic Union and one of the main opposition leaders. “He's a chameleon. A kind of systematic incompetent, Kicillof type, only more educated, with better manners,” he stated.

On the other hand, Milei minimized the rejection in the Senate of the DNU that he signed a few days after taking office and assured that he took it "as something that was contemplated within the possible results."

The President also spoke about his relationship with his vice

“We knew that this was something highly likely to happen. We have 7 senators, therefore, it was expected that something like this would happen. Despite that, there is a very positive aspect: we got 25 votes, that is, we managed to do a job to gain will and from the orcs one cannot expect more than orc attitudes. Then there are others who prefer to defend their caste interests than those of Argentines,” he noted.

In this regard, Milei maintained that the Decree was not approved because “the caste is not willing to give up its privileges,” but he was combative in assuring that his administration is not “willing to give up its arms either.”

These are only the first thousand reforms, with which we are going to get back to work and, when we finish with this, we still have another 3 thousand waiting .” They voted for us, not only to end inflation and insecurity, but also to return freedom to Argentines,” he anticipated.

When asked about his relationship with the governors, the President acknowledged that “he should be more involved in these types of issues,” but clarified that today his focus “is on lowering inflation, security and social containment.”

Regarding his relationship with Vice President Victoria Villarruel , Milei clarified that they are not “fighting” and that they both have “an excellent relationship,” although they do not think “exactly the same and that is clear.”

“For people, the differences we have may be imperceptible. Furthermore, I did not get involved in giving an opinion on whether it was appropriate or not (to call a session to discuss the DNU), that is her job and she will have made the evaluation of costs and benefits. In fact, on Tuesday we are going to meet again at the Cabinet meeting. “What I believe is that there was a malicious interpretation of the statement issued by the President's Office,” she concluded.
