President Javier Milei speaks at the Davos Forum, where he began his speech with a forceful sentence: “Free enterprise capitalism is the only tool we have to end the hunger, poverty and destitution throughout the entire planet.”
The Argentine head of state had anticipated that he was going to go to Switzerland to “plant the ideas of freedom in a forum contaminated by socialism”. And in that sense he focused his speech: “The West is in danger, those who must defend its values are captured by a vision that leads to socialism and poverty.”
His entire presentation aimed to question interventionism, dependence on the State and all kinds of ideas that aim to control the destinies of millions of human beings: “A good part of the Ideas accepted in the West are collectivist variants, whether they call themselves communists, fascists, Nazis, socialists, social democrats, Keynesians, progressives, populists, nationalists or globalists. Basically there are no substantive differences, everyone maintains that the State must direct the lives of individuals,” he added.
“Let no one tell you that your ambition is immoral. The State is not the solution, the State is the problem itself, you are the true protagonists of this story and know that from today you have Argentina as an unconditional ally. Long live freedom, damn it”, was the phrase chosen to close his presentation.
