The President made a harsh comment on the harsh letter that the opposition leader published to question the economic direction and policies of the libertarian administration. He invited her to listen to the “private lesson” that he will give tonight in Mendoza.

I know that you don’t understand much about economics, as demonstrated by the fact that you surrounded yourself with anumerical illiterates who destroyed the country with their economic shamanism .” This was the virulent and acidic response of Javier Milei to Cristina Kirchner, five hours after the former president published a long letter with harsh criticism of the libertarian government .

It was through his X account that the President echoed the statements made earlier this Friday by CFK, who spoke of the problem of the shortage of dollars, questioned the failures of the anarcho-capitalist theories applied in Argentina and mentioned the contradictions of the libertarian discourse.

In response to her comments, which also included the claim that Milei intervenes and controls the economy, the head of state replied: “ If you want to learn a little, turn on the TV today at 7pm and I will be giving you a private lesson ad honorem .” The message directed directly at the opposition leader was finished off with another post in which he wrote “back to the classroom.”

The President is referring to the speech he will give this afternoon in Mendoza, at the traditional annual meeting of the Argentine Institute of Finance Executives ( IAEF ), which will - in principle - be his last public activity of the week.

Although there will be at least thirty activities during the day, there are at least five panels that are expected to generate the most attention: those that will include the president of the Central Bank, Santiago Bausili, and his counterpart from Peru, Jorge Velarde; the ministers Patricia Bullrich (Security) and Federico Sturzenegger (Deregulation); the Secretary of Finance, Pablo Quirno; and the governors Alfredo Cornejo (Mendoza) and Rolo Figueroa (Neuquén).

In the run-up to this event, Cristina Kirchner published an 8-page letter entitled “It’s the bimonetary economy, stupid” , in which she provided an analysis of the reality of Argentina and strongly questioned the policies implemented by the national government.

The text begins with a quote from John Adams , former President of the United States: “ There are two ways to conquer and enslave a nation. One is the sword, the other is debt .” Based on that concept, CFK pointed out the lack of dollars as the main problem affecting the country's economy and points out the contradictions between the promises Milei made during the electoral campaign and the measures she finally implemented: “ Once again and as always, reality prevails over extravagant theories, incendiary speeches and marketing phrases .”

Javier Milei's tweet in response to CFK

In this sense, he pointed out against the libertarian leader: “ Milei , the ultra-libertarian who in his campaign promised to eliminate the intervention and control of the State over the lives of Argentines, today, in government, not only intervenes and controls, but also decides three of the four fundamental prices of the economy.” And he listed them:

1) The price of the dollar, through the crawling-peg table of 2% per month

2) The price of money, by setting an ultra-negative reference interest rate

3) The price of work, by setting a ceiling for wage agreements

4) Only the fourth price of the economy has been liberalized, that of goods and services, although with certain limitations: electricity, gas and transportation rates still have meager subsidies in some segments of users, and the State still does not have reliable data on the real costs of these sectors.

Cristina Kirchner referred to an “undeniable tragedy.” And in the context of her analysis she remarked: “If we add to this way of managing the four prices of the economy Milei’s fiscal adjustment – which is inconsistent and unsustainable because it is achieved through non-payment of debts due to the central administration and the withdrawal of the State from the functions essential for the very survival of the country as a Nation – a lethal combination is produced .”
