Pami began a strong cut

The PAMI authorities confirmed that they reduced the hierarchical structure of the social work of retirees, with the elimination of 30 hierarchical positions, from managers to deputy directors, who received salaries of around three million pesos per month.

According to official sources indicated to Infobae , the reduction mainly affects officials who took office during the previous administration. “The decrease in PAMI's hierarchical structure has the objective of cutting political positions and using the institute's resources more efficiently. Between the reduction, and through a personnel survey process that remains active, employees and hierarchical ranks linked to La Cámpora were found who did not resign with the change in management and, therefore, were fired , "they explained.

In numbers, the measures implemented by the current executive director of PAMI, Esteban Leguizamo, represent an adjustment of 24.18% in hierarchical ranks, 75% in Secretariats and Executive Management, a decrease of 33% in the number of Managements and almost 20% fewer Assistant Managers. According to the information accessed by Infobae , most of the positions had salaries of between two and a half million and three million pesos per month.

Nearly 12,000 people work at PAMI to serve a universe of around six million members, the vast majority of whom are retired and pensioned. The structure of the organization has a national dimension, since in each province and in the main municipalities throughout the country. The staff and hierarchical officials are assigned to general centers, local management units and local agencies that have the responsibility of serving the beneficiaries.

Official spokespersons confirmed that the objective is to advance in a deeper reduction of the bureaucratic structure of social work. They estimate that, once the administrative redesign is completed, the total of 120 current management positions will increase to no more than 90.

Along with this reduction, progress was also made with a reinforcement of personnel control to monitor attendance at workplaces. The installation of the fingerprint reader in each unit was one of the first measures implemented by Leguizamo's management, as this media learned.

Health, a critical area

The management of public health policies is one of those that demands the most resources from the State and where the government of Javier Milei announced that it is going to face profound changes. The PAMI, which until December 10 was headed by the current national representative Luana Volnovich, is the main operator of the public system, along with the hospitals, clinics and rooms of different complexity that are in charge of provinces and municipalities.

But another sector where the national government is determined to advance is in the deregulation of union social works. In the next few hours, the Ministry of Health will disseminate the regulations of the articles of the DNU that established the free option between social works and prepaid medicine companies.

This reform generated a strong reaction from the CGT union leaders, who since the decree was signed, redoubled their criticism of Milei, held marches and carried out a national strike, which was the fastest in history against a government. Neither in democracy nor during the dictatorship did the labor union carry out a general strike 45 days after a new president took office.
