Argentina has a long history in making comics, that is why in the neighborhoods of San Telmo and Puerto Madero, tribute is paid to said genre.
The Comic Strip Walk can be combined with a visit to other attractions in the neighborhood such as the Sunday fair, antique shops, old churches, etc...
Tour of the "Paseo de La Historieta"
Anyone who visits the neighborhood of San Telmo can visit the Comic Strip Walk where the most beloved and remembered characters wait. Throughout a few blocks, murals and large figures pay tribute to the most famous comics in the country. The tour invites you to walk through these streets and meet Largirucho, Isidoro Cañones, Matías or Mafalda and relive the images of Clemente, Inodoro Pereyra, Anteojito or the Cachavacha Witch.Characters and their creators:
Currently the Paseo is made up of Mafalda, Susanita and Manolito de Quino, (in Defensa and Chile), Isidoro Cañones by Dante Quinterno (Balcarce and Chile), Larguirucho and Super Hijitus by García Ferré (Balcarce and Mexico), Matías de Sendra (Balcarce, between Mexico and Venezuela), Clemente from Nik (Azopardo and Av. Belgrano), Patoruzito and Isidorito by Dante Quinterno (Avenida Belgrano, between Avenida Paseo Colón and Azopardo). by Roberto Fontanarrosa (Marta Lynch 550), Inodoro Pereyra and Mendieta by Guillermo Divito (Av. Belgrano and Balcarce), Girls Divito by Eduardo Ferro (Parque Mujeres Argentinas, Marta Lynch at 500), Langostino by Cognigni (Juana Manso and Marta Lynch), Negrazón y Chaveta from Tabaré (Marta Lynch at 400, in the Parque de Mujeres Argentinas), Diógenes and the Linyera by Héctor Torino (Av. - The walk begins in Defensa and Chile with Mafalda, Susanita and Manolito (the world famous girl and her friends, created by Quino).
- Continue through Chile to Balcarce with Isidoro Cañones (the prototype of the Argentine playboy, work of Dante Quinterno).
- In Balcarce and México there are Larguirucho and Super Hijitus (characters by Manuel García Ferré).
- Further on, continuing along Balcarce towards Belgrano Avenue is Matías (Sendra's questioning boy).
- Still following Balcarce is Don Fulgencio (“The man who had no childhood”, work by Lino Palacio).
- And sitting waiting to encourage is Clemente (the unclassifiable character with no hands, a soccer fan, created by Caloi).
- Finally, arriving at the corner of Balcarce and Av. Belgrano we met the Divito Girls (who marked several generations of Argentines).
- On Av. Belgrano and Av. Paseo Colón is stationed by Patoruzú (the Tehuelche chief created by Quinterno).
- On Av. Belgrano, between Av. Paseo Colón and Azopardo, are Patoruzito and Isidorito. (also by Dante Quinterno)
- Following av. Belgrano, we also meet Gaturro (Nik's famous pet).
- Finally we arrived at Puerto Madero and met the renowned Don Nicola (from Hector Torino).
- On Juana Manso, 100 meters away, we find Negrazón and Chaveta (by A. Cognigni).
- Following the route along the av. Marta Lynch, Diogenes and Linyera (from Tabaré) appear.
- Still on Av. Lynch, we meet Langostino and Corina (by Eduardo Ferro).
-Inodoro Pereyra and his inseparable dog Mendieta (creation of Roberto Fontanarrosa) are a must on this tour.
- Finishing the tour until we reach the Museum of Humor on Av. de los Italianos we find La Girafa (creation of Mordillo).
