Juan Luis Basombrío is a born entrepreneur. With a story that began 15 years ago with a personal loan of $40,000 , he created a company that is a benchmark in the storage sector in Argentina. Initially it rented containers in oil and mining camps, but later ventured into self-storage . Today, together with a partner, he manages an operation that includes 450 containers and 5,200 square meters of space in three locations in Buenos Aires (San Telmo, Don Torcuato and Escobar).
The inspiration for his business came from an American television show, and his focus on using shipping containers allows tenants to easily access their belongings while they are stored there.
In a move that promises to revolutionize the storage landscape on the Atlantic Coast , the company U-Store is joining in a new partnership to bring its innovative approach to Pinamar.
U-Store was born 15 years ago, it has offices in San Telmo, Don Torcuato and Escobar, 450 containers and 95% occupied.
The genesis of this new branch in Pinamar is not a coincidence, but rather the result of a vision of growth and unmet need. In the words of Basombrío: “This summer I met Enrique Shaw, CEO of the developer Pinamar SA, where the possibility of opening a new branch in Pinamar arose . We were looking to expand the business. I went on vacation, we had a coffee and Enrique expressed his interest in this possibility, given the void that exists in that town in this area, especially due to the moment of growth that the city is experiencing.

Its proximity to Buenos Aires, the explosion of construction , the large settlement of people to live permanently and the arrival of two universities, among other indicators, makes Pinamar “ an immediate target ” for opening a storage business.

This vision was materialized thanks to the alliance of other key partners who bring their respective skills and experiences to the project. Federico Von Hunefeld, with his experience in real estate developments, and Rafael De Vito, a prominent businessman in Pinamar, joined this joint venture that seeks to satisfy storage needs in an innovative and effective way , creating a synergy that has been named Pina -Store.With successful experiences in Escobar, Don Torcuato and CABA ( San Telmo ), Basombrío found fertile ground for its growth in Pinamar . “It has developments of all kinds, it is enormous. It operates all year round, while Costa Esmeralda is more for vacations. The city is already old, but it does not have a storage place like the one we are doing,” says Basombrío.

From those involved in construction projects who need reliable space to store their appliances and furniture during construction, as well as an on-site container service for daily tools. Their clients are also those entrepreneurs who only open in the summer and need to store their furniture for the high season.
They also target those who rent equipment for the summer, homeowners looking to protect their valuables during the winter, and people who take advantage of the low season to remodel their homes . Even before opening the space, they received their first client : a family that is building their house in Costa Esmeralda and desperately needed a place to store mattresses.

To meet this demand, Pina-Store opened two locations simultaneously last week. One of them, located on the road that connects Pinamar with Valeria del Mar , seeks to meet the storage needs of those who travel temporarily, providing a close and accessible service. Meanwhile, the other location on Route 11 is presented as a response to the more commercial and industrial storage demands in the area. In addition, the company has expansion plans that include the construction of small warehouses and cold rooms , which would further expand its service offering.
In a spirit of constant growth and adaptation, Pina-Store launched its initial operation with 64 containers and plans to increase this number to 100 by the beginning of the season, 200 by the end of the season and an ambitious goal of 300 in the first year of operation. life, with 75% occupancy at the end of the season .
