Recoleta Fair

The Recoleta Fair is the largest craft market in Buenos Aires. An ideal place to buy gifts and souvenirs.

The level of craftsmanship at the Recoleta Fair is very good, given that in order to have a position at the fair you have to pass a entrance exam that demonstrates the quality and artisanal origin of the products.

The Recoleta Fair is popularly known as the Plaza Francia.

The Recoleta Fair had its beginning in Plaza Francia at the end of 1970, when a group of hippies began selling their crafts in the park. Since that moment the fair has not stopped growing and currently has more than one hundred registered artisans.

The fair is located next to the Recoleta Cultural Center, the Pilar Church and the Cemetery and very close to the Museum of Fine Arts and the Monument to La Flor, so the walk can be combined with other places in the area.

In the parks, around the fair, different street performances take place, such as musicians, jugglers, clowns...
