There is much talk on the forum about if wages and salaries are going up enough to match inflation. We created a thread so people can post about any salary increases they are getting or their friends/family are getting or any news articles that discuss salary increases.
Here is one that was announced today.
The Union of Tourism, Hotel and Gastronomic Workers of the Argentine Republic (UTHGRA) has closed a wage agreement that establishes a 16% increase in salaries for the hotel sector, effective in three stages:
5% in December 2024
5% in January 2025
6% in February 2025
With this agreement, they accumulate a 35% increase in the 2024-2025 wage negotiations.
They will meet again in March 2025This increase is in addition to the raises already granted earlier in the year, reflecting an upward trend in sector wages.Furthermore, it has been agreed that the parties will meet again in March 2025 to evaluate the evolution of wages and discuss possible new increases. This monitoring is part of the parties' commitment to ensure that wages are adjusted to economic and labor market conditions. This new agreement is significant within the current economic context and seeks to improve wage conditions for hotel workers, who have faced economic challenges in recent years.
