It is highly recommended to visit this beautiful green space.
Estatua de Olmedo y Portales:
This statue pays tribute to two greats of Argentine humor as the black Alberto Olmedo and his partner Javier Portales, posing in their characters of Alvarez and Borges, sketch broadcast in the program: No toca botòn, during the eighties. The sculpture located at Corrientes Avenue and Uruguay in downtown Buenos Aires shows the two smiling figures, sitting on an armchair, and between them an empty space for visitors to sit and take a picture between them. It is a nice souvenir, but it is a pity that it has to be restored so often because of the vandalism to which it is exposed.
El Pensador:
The sculpture is located in Moreno Square about 400 meters from the Congress of the Nation, was brought directly from Paris and inaugurated in 1907.It is one of the two bronze sculptures cast in the original mold signed by Rodin, so it is considered an original version.
The statue is made of bronze placed on a masonry pedestal and represents a naked man sitting on a rock with his head resting on the back of his hand.
Not long ago the work was removed for restoration and, in addition, the height of the pedestal was doubled so that it can be appreciated better and with greater perspective.
