Just one day after the first strike faced by Javier Milei's administration , the Government decided to change the leadership of the Superintendency of Health Services "due to differences in criteria", according to sources from the Presidency confided to Infobae.

In this way, Gabriel Oriolo and Claudio Stivelman were appointed as the organization's new superintendent and general manager, as stated in decree 83/2024 of the Official Gazette that was published this Thursday.

In this case, the Government ordered the dismissal of the previous superintendent, Enrique Rodríguez Chiantore , and the former manager Nicolás Striglio , whom it had appointed a little over a month ago through decrees 44/2023 of December 14 and 93/ 23 of last December 19.

Chiantore, a lawyer specialized in administrative law who was linked to the efforts of Together for Change in the City of Buenos Aires, being general director of Legal and Technical between 2008 and 2012, and in the Nation, serving as chief of staff of the Ministry of Health between 2015 and 2018. had been presented as a “health reference for Together for Change” in Patricia Bullrich's presidential campaign last year.

The recitals do not specify the reason for the displacement of the authorities, and only indicate that “it is necessary to arrange for the dismissal” of both. However, the sources consulted today by this medium indicated that the change "responds to the fact that there was no progress being made in the objectives that the executive had set for the organization and to differences in criteria."
In the press conference he holds daily from the Casa Rosada, presidential spokesperson Manuel Adorni referred to the changes in the leadership of the SSSalud and explained that the President is looking for “the best in each of the positions.”

The President seeks to have the best work in each area ; When he considers that a person has to be removed by a more qualified person, that is going to happen. It happened in this case and it will continue to happen in a lot of more cases. No need to be surprised by that. We look for the best in each of the positions,” he explained when asked by accredited journalists.

And in relation to the possibility that the Government has announced the replacements of Chiantore and Striglio, the presidential spokesperson pointed out: “There is no type of revenge in reaction to the strike, far from being the case, neither in this case nor in any other . “Don’t be surprised if that continues to happen in the national cabinet.”
