The adjustment in all sectors of the State is one of the axes that the president proposed Javier Milei for his management and, in that sense , ordered all its officials to carry out a deep review of the personnel they encountered when entering the Government, a process that is far from over and even in the coming days layoffs and dismissals could be announced. non-renewals of contracts of thousands of public employees.
According to what was specified by Infobae different official sources, both the Ministries and the decentralized organizations are analyzing the situation in particular of each of its workers, since it is considered that several of them do not fulfill any task and were “placed by politics.”
While there is no exact number yet on how many positions could be eliminated, all government structures are being examined and in many of them It is planned to reduce personnel, as was recently done at Aerolíneas Argentinas.
Recently, the structure of Aerolíneas Argentinas (MASTERFILMS) was reduced
On Tuesday it was reported that this state company, which is now in the hands of Fabián Lombardo, will go from having 14 addresses to only 8 and that direct reports to the company's general management will decrease from 17 to 11, within the framework of a “rationalization” program.
“The 43% reduction in the Aerolíneas management structure is part of the public spending adjustment plan. It is the way to eliminate privileges, balance the accounts and make the State more efficient,” commented the Undersecretary of Press, Javier Lanari.
For his part, Miguel Blanco, who is in charge of the General Sindicature of the Nation (SIGEN), is compiling reports from each of the areas of the Government, with the objective of preparing a final study which must be presented to the Chief of Staff next month, as established by the Decree of Necessity and Urgency 70/2023 on economic deregulation.
By order of Milei, the SIGEN has a period of 30 business days from the entry into force of that DNU, which has been in force since last December 29, to carry out a survey not only of all active public employees, but also of the tenders existing.

The official began with this task and established a series of prior deadlines for the preparation of the respective situation analyzes of each Ministry and agency, with the objective of reviewing them before writing the general report.

“One, when you arrive at a place, always looks at what everyone does, where they work, what function they fulfill. There are 23 provinces and the city of Buenos Aires, so there are a lot of places to analyze,” explained an important national official.
As revealed to Infobae leaders of La Libertad Avanza, to carry out this process the authorities even They rely on the employees themselves of the organizations, with whom they meet to learn about the internal management of each area.
“Many times they are the ones who tell who they are who never go to work, because they are tired of having to keep a schedule and do things well, while others do nothing and get paid the same,” said a member of the space. who usually visits the Casa Rosada and is collaborating with the adjustment process in various sectors of the State.
In this way, the authorities know the situation of each place to carry out the corresponding audit, since in some public buildings there is no electronic system to control presence, while in others the mechanism is broken or was not used.
All government structures are under review
Thus things are, even in the next few days some layoffs could be announced that will be added to the more than 7 thousand worker dismissals states that were decreed at the end of 2023 and that corresponded to people who had been hired that same year.
In parallel, in the package of laws that the Government sent to Congress, President Milei included an article that establishes the creation of a so-called “availability situation”, from which “permanent agents and under a stability regime, whose positions will be eliminated by the restructuring measures that involve the suppression of bodies, organizations that make up the national Public Administration or the functions assigned to them”, become in a special condition “for a maximum period of up to 12 months”.
During this period, the workers “will be remunerated by the Labor Reconversion Fund, taking into account seniority and other conditions established by the national Executive Branch in the regulations and will have the obligation to (i) receive the training provided to them; and/or (ii) develop tasks in outsourced State services.
During that time, the person may choose to “fill a vacancy in the national Public Administration, if there is one and they meet the requirements for it,” be hired by a private company, or “formalize another employment relationship.”
However, once these 12 months have expired, employees who “have not formalized a new employment relationship will automatically be separated from the national public sector, having the right to receive compensation, which will be financed by the Fund, equal to one month of salary for each year of service or fraction greater than three months.”
