Social organizations will demand food aid this Monday from the Ministry of Human Capital , after a week convulsed with demonstrations in Congress in the midst of the vote for the Omnibus Law and which ended with clashes with members of the security forces.

The Union of Workers of the Popular Economy (UTEP) launched the call demanding a response to “the economic crisis” that worsened significantly less than two months after the Government of Javier Milei took office.

The concentration will be today at 9 in the morning in the building where the ministry operates, located on Juncal and Carlos Pellegrini in this capital, and will be held simultaneously and in delegations of the Secretary of Children and Family throughout the country, reported the UTEP through a statement released this weekend.

The call, called “Poverty Row” , seeks that “every person can enter the ministry in order to obtain a response to the food emergency aggravated by the economic crisis ,” the organization indicated. The UTEP decided to carry out this measure in response to the statements of the minister, Sandra Pettovello , who last Thursday stated that she will attend “one by one to the people who are hungry”, but not to the representatives of social organizations.

In the middle of a national day of protests, in which social movements grouped in the UTEP and that are part of Unión por la Patria protested in supermarkets throughout the country, a group arrived at the door of the Ministry of Human Capital. In the middle of the claim, Petovello went out into the street and had the particular exchange with some members of the organizations: “This is how I'm going to do it. If people are hungry, let those people come. I am going to serve the people who are hungry one by one, not the referents. Guys, you are hungry, come. I'm going to write down their ID, name, where they are from and they will receive help individually," the official said.

Afterwards, Pettovello sat at the entrance to the building at a desk, where he was waiting to receive the protesters. “We are going to solve people's problems, but we are not going to allow ourselves to be extorted by poverty managers who manipulate the will of those who need it most ,” he noted.

Minister Petovello went out to speak with protesters asking for food
"On Thursday we were present at the headquarters of the Ministry of Human Capital denouncing the lack of food by the National Government to the community dining rooms and picnic areas, the minister's response was that she will attend to each neighbor one by one, that is why we will attend this Monday with the neighbors. We hope he keeps his word,” Norma Morales , deputy secretary of the UTEP and representative of Somos/Barrios de Pie, told Infobae .

The UTEP assures that since November they have not received assistance from the State and that demand increases week after week due to the impact of inflation and devaluation among the most neglected sectors.

From the Human Capital portfolio they downplayed this Monday's claim, pointing out that they are carrying out "audits in all areas", and "if the minister is free on her agenda, she will attend to them, if not, there are channels for them to be register. For us, the important thing is to avoid intermediation and for food to reach the people, not to the leaders or managers of poverty as presidential spokesperson Manuel Adorni said. The previous Government delivered six million kilos of food to social organizations. "They don't chase us with chicanery and extortion," the Government emphasized in dialogue with this medium.

From the Executive Branch they denounced that according to official records, in the last four years, " 80% of social organizations did not provide the food assistance they received ", that is, that only 20% reported that assistance was provided with tons of dry foods that he received - noodles, rice, oil, sugar, grass, polenta, etc.; to how many soup kitchens these products were sent to, where they were located, who was in charge, and among other points, how many people, including children and adults, they benefited.
