Tomorrow the picketers and the UTEP will define the modality of the new protest against the Government of Javier Milei
The Piquetera Unit and the social movements aligned in the Popular Economy Workers Union (UTEP), define tomorrow the new forceful measures that they will carry out against the social and economic policy of the government of Javier Milei . That same day, but in the morning, the Polo Obrero lawyers, sponsored by the Bolivian Embassy in Argentina, will present a judicial complaint regarding alleged “discrimination” by the Minister of Human Capital, Sandra Pettovello . They claim that this ministry gave “arbitrary withdrawals from the Empower Work program” to citizens of that country who received the plan, some of whom could have traveled to Bolivia to visit their loved ones, including children or parents. A fact that would not be “incompatible” with the benefit.
After the judicial presentation, the picketers will hold a protest at the Buenos Aires Obelisk to “denounce the discrimination of Minister Pettovello.”
From the Ministry itself they recognized that thousands of casualties were poorly carried out. A Human Capital document accessed by Infobae reveals that, in February , 8,826 of the 25,444 beneficiaries who had been discharged in January from the “Enhance Work subsidy” were reinstated – they appear as “ RETRO ”, retroactively, in the file “ 2024-19410239″for having been incorrectly disaffected from the social program.
In the ministerial resolution it is explained as follows: “It is reported that the retroactive payment concept responds to holders who were Suspended due to some incompatibility being found in the corresponding data crossing. Then, the owner presented the claim refuting the situation of incompatibility . The Coordination of Social and Popular Economy Projects favorably evaluated said claim and therefore the retroactive payment for the suspended month corresponds.” Meanwhile, it explains that "both the data cross-checks and the claims presented by the owners are in the database of the Coordination of Social and Popular Economy Projects dependent on the National Secretariat of Children, Adolescents and Family", in charge of Pablo de la Torre and which is part of the Human Capital organizational chart.
Six other people were also reinstated, but they receive fifty percent of the plan. That same document highlights that until January, Potenciar Trabajo had a staff of 1,215,753 beneficiaries for whom the State spent $94,247,244,000 .

On February 28, the Government decided to eliminate the Empower Work program and create two other new plans to continue with the assistance provided, and removed the intermediation process from the social movements and municipalities that carried it out through the so-called Assistance Units. Management. In its place, Pettovello decided to create the “Social Accompaniment” and “Back to Work” programs.
On February 8, UTEP lawyers presented a collective protection to the court so that “ the arbitrary and irregular dismissals be reviewed ” in the Empower Work program carried out by the Ministry of Human Capital last month and that affect more than 25,000 beneficiaries.
Before the judges decide, Pettovello herself reinstated more than eight thousand, when errors were verified in the crossings or the claim of the beneficiaries who demonstrated that they traveled to neighboring countries for family or work reasons or that they never left the country directly and for for some reason they figured they had done it.
In the last piquetero march there were incidents with federal forces
Marches and pickets
Tomorrow's meeting between the piqueteros, left-wing and UTEP leaders is preceded by Friday's. There, several possibilities were considered to continue complaining about the lack of food in community soup kitchens and picnic areas , but also about other issues such as cancellations in plans, layoffs in state companies and layoffs in programs of the former Ministry of Social Development, such as the First Years Program. , created within the framework of the Thousand Days Law to protect children in the first three years of life.
According to the complaint of the social leaders and picketers, hundreds of “community facilitators” of that plan, who work in popular neighborhoods, and who had contracts that had been renewed over the years - some reach 10 - are not renewed. by Pablo de la Torre's secretariat.
Until Friday, there was no consensus on the proposal of a sector of social movements that proposed cuts in access to tourist centers - such as the Atlantic Coast - during the Easter holiday and April 2. A majority sector interprets that a measure of this magnitude, which will generate great discomfort among those who can take a mini-vacation and reactivate the tourist economy, will be capitalized by La Libertad Avanza.
For this reason, groups of piquetero leaders will propose “a great action of struggle for after Holy Week, at the same point ,” and not at five entrances to the City of Buenos Aires, as happened on March 18 and in which there were clashes with members of the federal forces in Puente Pueyrredón, Puente Saavedra and Liniers.
On this occasion, the Piquetera Unit and the UTEP intend to show massiveness . From Pettovello's portfolio they highlight that the removal in the management of Empower Work and food, as happened in the administration of Alberto Fernández , "has taken away the power of extortion from the leaders and that is why fewer and fewer people go to the marches." The intention would be to reverse that vision that they describe as “whimsical and false.”
The picketers question the social policy of Sandra Pettovello and her cabinet
The picketers demand from the CGT a “24-hour general strike because hunger is the limit” but so far they have not achieved it. Yes, on the other hand, activities in which, for example, some heavyweights from the country's main labor union converge with the UTEP; whose general secretary is the leader of the Evita Movement, Alejandro “Peluca” Gramajo .
Yesterday, for example, they marched together to Plaza de Mayo to commemorate the 48 years of the savage coup d'état of 1976. “It was a historic March 24 because we marched together with the CGT in a dramatic context for the workers and for the people in their set. Dramatic because the government of Javier Milei is leading us to a social genocide that leads to an extreme situation for the most humble sectors,” expressed Gramajo when consulted by this medium. The general secretary of the UTEP will be one of those attending the assembly on Tuesday where the new protest measure against the administration of La Libertad Avanza will be voted on.
