A real estate development is planned with a pool that will have 1.5-meter waves
Summer is just around the corner and the season for water sports is here . Surfing in particular , a sport that has more than 35 million practitioners worldwide, and is growing at a rate of one million surfers a year. This was taken into account by the developer La Ola Group, who for more than 10 years planned a tourist and residential project less than an hour from CABA in Luján , Province of Buenos Aires, so that those who want to practice surfing do not have to go to the Atlantic Coast .
In fact, the establishment's main objective is to provide a natural surfing experience in an artificial environment . This development is in the initial construction phase and will not only be used by the residents of the project, but will be open to anyone who wants to practice the sport.
What will the pool be like? Beyond being the first in the country, it will have an area of 1.5 hectares and, in total, the entire Surf Park will cover six hectares , where sports such as surfing, longboarding, bodyboarding and paddle-surfing can be practiced.
“Without a doubt, a project of this nature would attract an audience that until now has been largely overlooked in real estate development ; young people who love extreme sports are a segment that definitely continues to grow every day. It is no longer just traditional sports that generate demand; with generational changes, new audiences emerge every day,” analyses the demand Germán Gómez Picasso, founder of Reporte Inmobiliario.

“In addition to the wave pool, which is the main attraction of the project and is estimated to have the capacity to receive more than 10,000 users per month , there will be a series of satellite businesses such as a beach club, commercial premises, restaurants, a spa, a gym, among others. This is the new amenity that is all the rage in the real estate market in countries such as the United States, Australia, and even neighboring Brazil ,” says Sacha Wicher, CEO and Founder of La Ola Group, who clarifies that there will be no power surges in order to promote the use of renewable energy.
Although it is unique in the country , there are already three operating in the region, all in Brazil: two in São Paulo and one in Garopaba, with tourist and residential models. There are also three other projects in development , two of them also in Brazil: in Curitiba and in São Paulo Centro, another in Maldonado, Uruguay

All the elements and technology of the pool are from a national industry . Regarding the technology, everything is designed so that this pool generates waves of up to 1.5 meters high by injecting water driven by compressed air, although it will have different adaptations. The waves travel through a pool specifically built with different depth changes that cause the breakers and the corresponding waves.
