For those saying we are still in recession you can see the numbers of car sales have exploded. Same thing with real estate. Once credit improves even more you will see more and more people buying. The positive thing with credit expansion is it will push people working in "black" to push to get declared income otherwise they won't be able to buy cars and real estate without declared legal income.

The sale of new cars (0km) grew by 71.3% year-over-year in February, according to ACARA.

In the first two months of 2025, vehicle registrations increased by 99.8% year-over-year, making it the best start to the year since 2018.

In February 2025, new car sales in Argentina experienced a significant increase of 71.3% compared to the same month the previous year, with 42,918 units registered. This growth is part of a broader positive trend in the Argentine automotive market.

For the first two months of 2025, the cumulative growth in registrations was even more impressive, with a year-over-year increase of 99.8%, totaling 112,396 units. This performance marks the best start to the year for the sector since 2018.

Some factors contributing to this growth include:

-A tax reduction in previous months
-A wider range of models offered by brands
-Lower inflation expectations
-The return of financing options for vehicle purchases

Among the best-selling models in February were:

Fiat Cronos: 2,872 units
Peugeot 208: 2,753 units
Toyota Hilux: 2,418 units

Sebastián Beato, president of ACARA, noted that this growth indicates a promising outlook for the automotive sector in the coming months, despite a challenging context.

Interesting because I read a report that fuel sales are down. So I guess people have money to buy cars but not the gas to fuel them. 🤣

Used car sales are also up.

Used car sales in Argentina experienced a significant increase in February 2025, with a year-over-year growth of over 40% according to the Automotive Trade Chamber (CCA).

This increase adds to a first two-month period that closed 43.4% above the same period in 2024. Despite February being the worst month since April of the previous year in terms of sales volume, with a 12.3% drop compared to January, the automotive sector remains optimistic about the rest of the year.

Key factors contributing to growth:

•Inventory and financing: The replenishment of inventories at dealerships and the reduction in financing rates have made used cars more accessible to consumers.

•Regional economies: The increase in sales also reflects a recovery in regional economies, particularly in provinces like La Rioja, Chaco, and Salta.

•Popular models: The Volkswagen Gol and Trend, Toyota Hilux, and Chevrolet Corsa and Classic are some of the best-selling models.

Projections for 2025:

If low inflation and good financing options continue, the automotive sector anticipates a “surprising” year in terms of growth. The positive expectations are based on the strong start to the year and the sustained growth trend observed in the used car market
