The formal call to a session to discuss the omnibus law in Deputies
The omnibus law will begin to be discussed in Deputies on Wednesday from 10 a.m. , following a request made this Monday by the head of the ruling party, Oscar Zago , along with 10 other legislators from Libertad Avanza. It was ratified and formalized by the parliamentary secretary of the Lower House, Tomás Ise Figueroa, in the midst of frenetic negotiations between libertarians and the non-Kirchnerist opposition for a set of articles that have not yet been endorsed in the chamber.
In order to organize the session, the president of Deputies, Martín Menem, will moderate a Parliamentary Labor meeting tomorrow with all the block heads to try to organize a debate that, it is estimated, would last more than 30 hours . This conclave is expected to occur during the afternoon.
More experienced lawmakers in Congress fear a complex sign-in . Some believe that the Kirchnerist opposition and the left could demand, due to how traumatic the outcome of the ruling was, that it return to committees. That would require a simple majority.
This Monday, the ruling party faces a defining day regarding the law. The negotiations include the PRO blocs, more aligned with the latest text offered by the Government; the Radical Civic Union (UCR), which still warns about several articles and tries to stop a fierce internal conflict that leaves its boss in the lower house, Rodrigo de Loredo , in a bad light ; and We Make the Federal Coalition, which raised many doubts about the last wording.
Many deputies are also attentive to the meeting that governors will hold this afternoon, at the Federal Investment Council (CFI), from 7 p.m. After scrapping the omnibus law in slow motion and forcing the withdrawal of the Profit Law, the provincial leaders want to recover funds that the previous Government removed and direct their sights at the PAIS tax.
The head of radicalism in Deputies, Rodrigo de Loredo
There is an important point that the “dialogue” opposition is about to blow up: the chapter on privatizations . What began as observations about four or five sectors in one of the annexes spread to larger claims from different governors. Faced with a delicate scenario and criticism from radicalism and We Make the Federal Coalition, it is considered not to accompany said chapter.
The project would also have a serious problem with the delegated powers. Despite the nods activated by the Government and the reduction of them to seven, the UCR internal would turn the first article of the initiative into a potential risk.
“We are always going to fight for a unified vote, knowing that we are a party where what characterizes us par excellence is that we have a democratic stance and there are always different views, semantics, positions. "In the most important thing, in the most relevant thing, in giving the instruments to a government that has just taken office, I hope and hope, and I am working for that, so that radicalism votes in a unified way," De Loredo assured this Monday.
At the last traffic light presented by La Libertad Avanza, the yellow zones under review point, in addition to those mentioned, to the fishing regime, biofuels, energy transition, divorces and contracts, among other points . These are the ones that some dialogue groups - especially, We Make the Federal Coalition - are not willing to accompany and, therefore, are hanging by a thread.
The expectation now is on the meeting that the governors will hold this afternoon and a potential new crossing with the Government, in case of demanding more modifications to an opinion already dizzy from the times it was retouched. “In the end it is going to be worse than with Mauricio Macri , who with each law took one point off the Gross Domestic Product,” an experienced advisor said gracefully to Infobae in the last few hours.
