After the leak of a database with nearly 6 million files with images and driver's license data , the Government confirmed the hack and assured that there is no " sensitive information compromised ." Through a statement from the National Road Safety Agency (ANSV), it was detailed that it was a group of “ professional hackers ” who accessed a “ limited flow ” of information that is used to prepare the Digital Licenses.

When asked by Infobae , at the Casa Rosada they indicated that it was not a “theft”, but rather a leak. Once the information was known, this afternoon, the National Cybersecurity Directorate and the Incident Response Assistance Center ( Cert.Ar ) intervened to deter the cyberattack and take the appropriate measures.

As this media learned, it was a hack that accessed a part of the database that stores information on the National Driver's License. The images leaked by a group of hackers who stole information from the National Road Safety Agency
After the theft of the information was carried out, a circuit began that consisted of selling the data in exchange for money. As indicated to Infobae, this is the same attacker who at the beginning of April stole 116,000 photos of Argentine citizens from the National Registry of Persons (Renaper).

When asked if it was a theft with some political intention , the Government did not confirm that hypothesis and indicated that they continue to investigate the details and the computer route of the hack to corroborate how the security of the Agency's database was damaged. National Road Safety.

However, within the leaked data, information from the driving records of showbiz personalities and also politicians stands out. Among them, the President of the Nation himself, Javier Milei , Luis Petri , Minister of Defense, and Patricia Bullrich , head of the Security portfolio. While among the famous ones, names such as Guillermo Francella , Chino Darín , Marcelo Tinelli, Tini Stoessel and Peter Lanzani stand out.

According to the group of Hackers in a message they distributed in English, responsibility for the leak corresponds to the Head of State. “ President Milei is not interested in having a cybersecurity plan, like in other countries in the world ,” the communication expresses.

The Government intervened to stop the cyber attack and is evaluating taking measures in this regard
The leak came to light through a report by the United Kingdom company BCA LTD , specialized in cyber, cybercrime, and digital threats. With the stolen data, the hacker group published photos, ID numbers, addresses and even blood group.

Regarding the theft that the other agency of the National State that stores personal data of Argentine citizens had suffered, on April 3 it was learned that the data from a file with 116,459 photos were uploaded to a forum for the purchase and sale of personal data and on Telegram. of Argentine citizens who had been stolen from Renaper in 2021.

For that robbery at Renaper two years ago, a file was opened based on a criminal complaint. The investigation is being processed in the Federal Criminal and Correctional Court No. 11. It has not yet been determined whether the crime was committed by the person who owned that user or if someone external stole the username and password applied by the different public entities with access to connect and consult the database of that organization.

In relation to the leak to the ANSV that became known today, the Government has not yet defined whether it will immediately initiate a lawsuit to request a judicial investigation. Meanwhile, the National Cybersecurity Directorate has already intervened and is evaluating what measures to take.
