Tigre is a destination to enjoy the Delta with its rivers and streams, parks next to the Luján River, museums, Puerto de Frutos, and boat rides.

The Tiger Municipality is located 33 km away. of the City of Buenos Aires. The trip to Tigre and the Paraná Delta is one of the favorites for the weekend.



The Paraná Delta is the fifth largest in the world and the only one that flows into a freshwater course. And El Tigre is the gateway to the fascinating world of the Delta with its rivers, streams and islands. A very good option to enjoy a day outdoors.

City of Tigre​

The Tigre City is located on the banks of the Paraná River Delta. The Delta is made up of numerous rivers, streams and canals that form many islands. The Tiger City has a river station, where you can take boats and catamarans to take walks or travel to a recreational or spa. On the islands there are different proposals to spend the day, have a picnic, barbecues or eat in restaurants.

Puerto de Frutos/Fruit Port​

Address: 160 Sarmiento St..

Hours: every day from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. More stalls operate on weekends and hours extend until dark.

The Puerto de Frutos is perhaps the most visited place by tourists who come to Tigre every weekend. In its beginnings, the Fruit Port received and marketed the fruits that were produced on the islands. Currently, the Fruit Port offers visitors plants, typical products made of wicker and wood, furniture and objects to decorate the house. The Port of Fruto is located on the right bank of the Luján River a few blocks from the Fluvial Station.

Victoria Walk​

Address: Along Av. Victorica, next to the Luján River

This picturesque walk offers different places for visitors who come to Tigre. Tour the coast of Río Tigre and Luján with beautiful views of the islands and it is possible to admire rowing clubs, recreation and coastal homes, among them the Regatta Club stands out. Restaurants and bars operate in the Paseo Victorica area. On weekends, one sector is pedestrian, cars are not allowed and many people come to enjoy the river and the outdoors. An ideal place to mate with friends or family.

Boat rides and catamarans​

To have a complete visit to Tigre and the Delta with its rivers, streams and islands, it is necessary to take a ride by collective boat or catamaran. There are different options and prices with different routes with a duration ranging from 45 minutes to 2 hours. Most of the tours can be booked at the Fluvial Station (there are also some tours with departures from Puerto de Frutos ). The departures of the boat rides are every hour.

River Station​

The Tigre river station is a vital point in the daily life of the inhabitants of the Delta islands. The different lines of collective boats (botes colectivos) arrive and depart there, having their circuits and routes through the different rivers and canals of the Delta. Agencies that offer excursions and breaks to enjoy a day on an island in the Delta also operate in the river station.

Recreation on the islands​

El Tigre has different recreations and campsites in the Delta Islands. Most of the recreation areas are located in the first section of the Delta and can be reached in a few minutes by public boat. The recreations have information and sales offices at the river station. In these offices, visitors can see photos of the facilities and recreation amenities. Many include with the entrance value the return trip on the collective boat. The recreos del Tigre offer different services such as grills and tables, soccer fields, camping areas, beaches, swimming pools, restaurants and other amenities.

Recreation El Alcázar​

The Alcázar is one of the most visited recreation areas in Tigre. It has 5 hectares of landscaped land on the Sarmiento River, 15 minutes by boat from the Tigre Fluvial station. The playground has 80 grills and picnic tables, it also has 100 meters of sandy beach suitable for bathing and a fishing area. It also offers sports facilities such as a soccer field, volleyball court and tennis court. The Alcazar recreation also has a restaurant and grocery store.

Boat schedules from the river station: 9:30 / 10:30 / 11:30 / 12:30 / 1:30 / 3:30 p.m.

Return boat times: 15:40 / 17:30 / 18:30 (there may be more times).

Pets are not accepted. Overnight stays at recess are not allowed.

Prices:

Round trip transfer (river station by boat) + entrance to the playground and use of all facilities: Argentine residents $6000 pesos per person. Children from 3 to 5 years old: $2000.

Golden Galleon Recreation​

10 minutes by boat from the Tigre river station. The playground is located on the Sarmiento River. It has a picnic area, tables and grills, restaurant, grocery store, area for camping and spending the night in a tent, dormis, and a beach on the river.

Naval Historical Museum​

Address: 602 Paseo Victoria St.

Hours: Monday to Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. Saturdays, Sundays and holidays from 10:30 a.m. to 6:30 p.m.

On Paseo Victorica is the Naval Museum , whose function is to show the historical heritage of the navy and preserve different objects from the Argentine navy's past. In its rooms, models of ships, weapons, boats and nautical elements are displayed. In the park of the Museum there are different testimonies of the Malvinas War.


Tigre Art Museum MAT​

Hours: From Wednesday to Sunday and holidays from 1 p.m. to 6 p.m. (ticket office closes at 5:15 p.m.)

Access to museum gardens: Monday to Sunday and holidays from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m.

Guided tour for the general public: Wednesday to Friday at 4:30 p.m. Saturdays, Sundays and holidays at 1:30 p.m. and 4:30 p.m.

The building where the Art Museum operates belonged to the Tigre Club, construction began in 1909 and was inaugurated in 1912. The construction has two floors and fine details. The club was the meeting point for high society and a casino also operated there. The building is in French style with columns, arches, floral ornaments that symbolize glory and strength. Currently the Tiger Art Museum (MAT) exhibits an interesting collection of Argentine art from the 19th and 20th centuries with paintings by renowned artists such as Quinquela Martín , Eduardo Sívori, Florencio Molina Campos and Justo Lynch. It also has a room about the history of the place.


Museum of the Reconquest​

Address: 818 Liniers Av, Tigre.

Days and times: Wednesday to Sunday from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.

Free pass.

The museum operates in the same place where Santiago de Liniers landed on August 4, 1806 to organize the militias and march to reconquer the city of Buenos Aires during the English invasions. In its rooms, objects and elements related to local history are also exhibited. The museum operates in a historic house that is worth visiting.

Casa Sarmiento Museum​

Address: 273 Río Sarmiento (Intersection Río Sarmiento and Arroyo de Los Reyes), Islas del Tigre.

How to get there: The only way to get there is by river transport from the Tigre Station with a collective boat ride of approximately 30 minutes.

In the heart of the Delta is an old wooden house inside an imposing glass structure. It belonged to Domingo Faustino Sarmiento. To get to the house of the writer, statesman and educator from San Juan it is necessary to board a boat at the Tigre river station. In twenty minutes of travel you reach what was the weekend residence of the hero. The house is built on stilts, it has two rooms and a main room where you can see the furniture belonging to Sarmiento: his bed, a collection of photos and a picturesque painting of the steamship Talita, in which the hero carried authorities and friends to get to know the Delta. The house is surrounded by an immense park, where it is possible to see a bust of Sarmiento made by the sculptor Víctor de Pol (the only one in front of which the hero posed) and another of Mrs. Paula Albarracín de Sarmiento. It also has a popular library that operates within the cultural center and a traveling exhibition hall.

Haroldo Conti House Museum​

Address: Arroyo Gambado and Leber, Delta Islands.

How to get there: To get there we suggest: by collective boat, get off at the “El Alcazar” Recreo and follow the path that leads to Arroyo Gambado, then turn right and continue for about 200 meters; or access by own transportation or taxi boat to the dock in Arroyo Gambado.

A journey of memory and nature that recovers the identity of a writer who disappeared in the last civil-military dictatorship that chose the Delta as a place of inspiration.
As a summer plan, the Haroldo Conti House Museum in the Tigre Delta stands out for housing a large part of the life of the remembered writer. With free entry there, you can see books, navigation instruments, paintings and other relics of the novelist.

Xul Solar House Museum​

Entry price: Free and Free.

Brief review of the museum (theme, rooms, exhibitions, etc.) An hour's drive from the city of Buenos Aires is the house-workshop where Xul Solar (Oscar Agustín Alejandro Schulz Solari, 1887-1963) lived and created the last years of his life. Creator of visual and poetic languages, Xul named the house he built. He called her "Li-Tao". The first syllable alludes to the nickname of his wife (Lita) and "Tao", to the spiritual path that guided the artist's existence. Xul's project in Tigre was to create a community life where nature played a leading role.

To see the interior of the house, you must schedule a visit to the Xul Solar Museum: (mail: info@xulsolar.org.ar). However, you can visit the garden, the interpretation center and the walk with the panels about the house-workshop and the artist's work, in addition to a guided tour.
Warning: There are no works by Xul Solar in Li-Tao. These are located at the headquarters of the Xul Solar Museum (Laprida 1212).

The complex has a courtesy bathroom for the public.

Parking could be done on the street through which you access the museum, it is a public dirt street that ends at the complex that will be about 50 meters long, meaning that approximately 3 cars can fit.

Casino Trilenium​

Free entry. Minors are not allowed to enter. Only over 18 years old.

The Trilenium casino is located in Tigre and is one of the largest in Buenos Aires. In the casino rooms you can bet on slot machines, roulette, black jack, points and banking, poker and other games of chance. The casino has a restaurant and snack bars. On weekends it is common for shows and shows to be organized.
