VILLA CRESPO MERCATVilla Crespo Market, a different experience in the best style of European markets, right in the heart of Buenos Aires.
Based on the Boquería in Barcelona, under the idea of “More Market, Less Super”, it was inaugurated in Villa Crespo on largest new gastronomic, creative and innovative hub in Argentina.
Here, you will find a space for enjoyment and meeting to discover new products and meals at very affordable prices.
It has 2700m2, 3 floors and 38 exclusive premises (no item is repeated) for selected producers, a foyer and an auditorium for talks, training, cooking classes and workshops (paid and free), product launches and tastings.
This space, in the past and for many years, functioned as a handbag factory. To carry out the Mercat de Villa Crespo, the original building was maintained, which gave the market an aesthetic of metal and concrete, with brick to the view on its walls.
Inspired by the Boquería in Barcelona, Mercat means Market in Catalan. It was created in Villa Crespo, given that the neighborhood's imprint is the mix of cuisines and communities, the basic idea of this market that seeks to generate a more equitable trade by bringing the consumer closer to the producer directly. Here you will find only one option from each category, with innovative and experimental proposals. For many producers, this is their first location!
The premise of this space is the playful spirit of the markets: being able to come and go, look, discover, taste. Its walls have huge murals with a gastronomic theme, a colorful combination between dark metal and concrete.
Among the curiosities offered by this new Buenos Aires market, you can find pulled tea from Vedanna, an infusion that is not served in a cup with steaming water, but rather comes out of a tap, slightly carbonated and fresher. Also, you can find typical food Argentina like the empanadas from La Casa de Tafi, which are brought from Tucumán in a refrigerated truck. In addition, you will find the products from Dulce de Leche & Co and the meat slice sandwiches from Native Grasslands. Also, is the first bakery of Jewish origin, Moisha, with its pretzels, knishes, hummus and much more!
In addition, the much-loved coffee ceremony is added to this space with filter options and a variety of coffee, adding vegan products without tac, wine options and even a space to shop vegetables and fruits without pesticides and with the option per kilo, instead of bags.
Opens its doors on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Sundays from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m.; Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays from 11 a.m. to midnight. Closed on Mondays!
