Western Union gave me $500 USD in 100 peso bills

The lady at the counter said we only have 100s is that OK? But I wasn't paying attention and thought she meant 1000s so I said fine

Next minute she pulls out these enormous sacks of cash and I had to fill my entire backpack and a large shopping bag. Wtf..

Anyone know If I take it into a bank will they change it for me or what else I can do?

Holy cow I have been to WU a lot but never had them pay me in only 100 bills. That is like a 10 cents each! I think I would have opted for another location. Do you think they only do this with foreigners? Non locals? Not sure a local would accept that.

I think I would have just refused it and gone to another. My bulge is big enough in my pocket with the worthless 1,000 peso notes. I can't imagine walking around with 100's.

Yes I should have refused but by the time I realised what was happening the transaction was already processed

@Darksider415 wow! So this happens on occasion. I have come to WU many times and I just get 1,000 peso notes. I ask all the time if they have 2,000 peso notes and they always say no. But crazy this happens. I was reading and thought it was fluke event. You have it happen since then?
