Newcomer What documentation do I need to enter Argentina?

Hello!
I am planning to travel to Argentina for a period of two months and I would like to know what documentation I need to enter the country.

If you're from the US and looking to head to Argentina for a vacation or business trip lasting up to 90 days, you'll need your passport and to apply online for something called an Electronic Travel Authorization (ETA). It's not too tricky, just fill out a form before your trip.

And just to be safe, make sure you've got a return ticket and enough cash to cover your expenses while you're there.

lol no, no eTA needed on a U.S. passport. For only 2 months, just your passport, address where you’re staying and maybe a return ticket will be plenty.

This is horrible advice. You do NOT need an ETA to go to Argentina for Americans.

I also laughed. People shouldn't post if they aren't sure what the answer is.

Thank you! I got panicked when I read Travelers post. I'm heading to BA in a few weeks and I can't wait. I looked into a Digital Nomad visa but it sounds easy enough to just stay for 3 months and extend or cross over to Uruguay or Brazil to stay another 90 days.

You will love BA! It’s very easy to stay here for 3 months and then you can extend by crossing the border. They have a ferry to Uruguay and you can get another 3 months. I have met people doing this for years.

one of the few worthwhile federal services of the USA gov't is the travel section. 99% of the time you can rely on this, and it should absolutely be the first thing you research when planning a trip @BradP: https://travel.state.gov/content/tr...avel-Country-Information-Pages/Argentina.html

be aware that the new government is cracking-down on border-runs and any other abuse of the tourist visa. the entire point of a tourist visa is to live somewhere for 90 days, and if you want an extension you request another 90 days (not 100% guaranteed but probably 98%), and if you want to stay more than 6 months you basically need a residency. this has been covered a lot here. long story short: old-timers will tell you nothing changes, you can take the ferry or cross a border, and no issue, but there is now a small risk of getting denied re-entry. here are five threads you should read all of:

Good advice about making that your first stop online when planning an international trip. I have seen many websites wrong on info you need or spoof visa sites. Most people won't have issues with a border run but it seems like if the customs official is having a grumpy day it could ruin an extension. I haven't met anyone personally that this happened to but good to read about the experiences.
