The Minister of the Interior, Guillermo Francos, assured this Sunday that the new floor for paying the Income Tax that the government projects will be between $1,500,000 and $2,000,000 , a fiscal issue of importance for the provinces that, as the official clarified , the Minister of Economy is “finishing the analysis with his team” to “permanently” sustain the “zero deficit” that the libertarian Government of Javier Milei embraces and protects .

“It will be among those numbers,” Francos said in statements to Radio Rivadavia . Furthermore, he made it clear that the scales will be “progressive” and that both issues were well received by the governors of Together for Change who met days ago with the Minister of the Interior and other officials of the Casa Rosada.

On the other hand, the link between Milei and the provinces highlighted that there will be no type of retroactivity if progress is made in Congress. “ The law is not retroactive to the first quarter or quarter. The same with the last quarter of last year, which would be outside the law. We are going to correct it and all of that will be exempt from Profits ”, He announced.

Despite Francos' statements and the "support" offered by the leaders of the now former Together for Change, uncertainty has risen in the offices of Deputies and the Senate in recent days due to the lack of details about several articles of the “bases” initiative that, until this Sunday, continued as a draft.

On this point, the official said: “ The intention is to end this week with the conversations to refine each of the points of the law .” There is always some writing problem, something pending.” Beyond that, he trusts in an approval by the end of April, in order to leave room for the Senate and arrive with a sanctioned norm before the eventual signing of the May Pact proposed by the President.

We are talking to know exactly what the position of the different legislators will be. Perhaps, the first law was much more complex, had several issues and raised some questions. In the particular treatment we got stuck. “Now we have condensed the most important issues and there is greater significance for the rebound of the economy in the second half ,” Francos explained.

According to the Minister of the Interior, the Government believes that it has reached “several points of consensus” and that it is “good” ahead of a vote in the lower house, prior to the corresponding opinions in the plenary session, which will consist of three commissions, as long as when the final law appears.

“It greatly benefits economic and productive activity in a lot of provinces that have a large amount of resources and are waiting for very strong investments. And there are external and internal investors who are closely observing the deregulations and agreements made by politicians. It is important as a political gesture by the different forces,” the official clarified.

In another part of the interview, Francos confided that during the meeting with governors of Together for Change, the national government's proposals for the Supreme Court of Justice were not discussed , since it involves “a long process, which has several stages, with which is not a concern at the moment, but rather continues its normal process.”

Francos was also consulted about the usual tension with the Truckers union, in particular, with Pablo Moyano . “ The coercion and bullying, to all Argentines, has had enough . The union will do what it wants and the Government will take the measures that it is legally authorized to take,” he emphasized. And he added that mandatory conciliation “is always a possibility, a tool for these union crisis situations.”
