Banking What is going on with the Blue dollar? Why is it going down?

That is some good investigative work. I never heard of this guy but all of a sudden he keeps posting about Argentina. Here is another post today. He probably has friends that are trying to make money but are any of his points correct? Everyone is saying the same thing that the peso is...

Divorce Advice? Calling it quits after only 3 months. Help!

I used CentralLab https://www.centralab.com.ar/eng Not sure all of the reasons why you are getting one but I can take a guess. Make sure that you take note of this advice from US Embassy in Argentina. https://ar.usembassy.gov/dna-testing-information/

Economy The country risk pierced the floor of 1,200 points and is at its lowest level since September 2020 - Infobae

Good to see it going down but the country could still end up defaulting next year. https://www.lanacion.com.ar/economia/dolar/dolar-hoy-el-riesgo-pais-perfora-los-1200-puntos-y-busca-tocar-minimos-en-la-era-milei-nid08102024/

Survey: Rents prices in Buenos Aires up 52% so far this year

Good that there are actual rentals since the rental laws were changed but prices are on the rise. Average rent prices so far this year have gone up 52%. Average value of a flat is already above 500,000 pesos; Price of one-bedroom flat went up 4.4% in September...

Don't count Cristina Kirchner out for a comeback

This forum seems balanced with some people that like Milei and some that don't. I seriously doubt anyone in any country wouldn't be up in arms if their utility bill went up 800% in a span of a few months. I like much of what this President is doing but I just can't see a successful path just...

Caputo confirms Argentina has moved some of its gold overseas

If something would happen to this gold I think it's safe to say that Caputo would be toast.

Chori - Delicious Choripan Restaurant in Palermo Soho

This thread is a good example of general price inflation in restaurants in Buenos Aires. You can see prices for over 20 months what they have done. I would guess that most restaurants probably are similar. Let's see what they are charging by the end of the year. My guess is it will be higher...

    Black people in Argentina

Every time I have friends that visit me here in BA they always ask me why there aren't any black people here. So many different answers but some good info here on this Reddit.

I don't care what they say about me as long as they spell the name of the country Argentina right.

Agree with you @James Bond. Milei said the caste would pay. Great they are getting rid of a lot of corruption but these increases are too much too soon. I also know people that are behind on their utility bills. I looked on my condo bill from last month and about 40% are paying late.

Now Argentina want to join NATO as a Global Partner!

Anyone else think we are close to World War III? I can't see how it will be avoided. Just saw this Iron Dome in action. Incredible.

    Ordering stuff from abroad

I read on X about locals that are claiming to buy electronics. One guy ordered an Air fryer. Said it is coming in October so I will be curious if any other customs fees are due. The only things that I have ordered on Amazon successfully and shipped to BA were clothing items. It's been a while...

Argentina recession leaves once-bustling Buenos Aires restaurants hustling for customers

Interesting to hear that growth in coffee shops and restaurants is like that further outside of the city. I remember reading you live outside of CABA. Are the coffee shops and restaurants replacing other places that went out of business or are they totally new? Are they all full? There is...

Politics Is the Pope a Peronist? 🫨

Larry isn't a local. I read one of his posts before saying he was from another country. He said he wasn't American either. I can't remember. Maybe it was somewhere in Europe. But I have met expat Peronists before. It might just stem from them having a better life with the economy in misery and...

Argentina recession leaves once-bustling Buenos Aires restaurants hustling for customers

Either their profit margin goes down or maybe they do shut their doors. The margins in the restaurant business are not high to begin with. If salaries go up, expenses all drastically go up and you can't mark up your prices that is a recipe for disaster.

Thank you Argentina on behalf of all Russians that moved here to Buenos Aires!

I don't know much about Russian women but there was some viral video of some fairly ugly Latino dating many Russian girls in Russia. I think he was studying there. I was thinking watching it that there must be a lack of datable guys there in Russia but maybe you're right that Latino males have...

Banking What is going on with the Blue dollar? Why is it going down?

I just stick to buying enough for the next month. I wish I loaded up on more pesos when it went to 1500 but I have done that before only to watch it go higher. Waiting to see how long the government keeps going with their current plan.

Ménage à trois gone wrong - French Ruby players accused of rape allowed to go back to France

Agree. Plus prostitution is legal in Argentina so safer to go that route vs. something like this.

    La Plata - underrated city - 40kms / 25 miles from BA

That is some fun trivia. I really liked 7 Years in Tibet. I had no idea it was partly filmed in Argentina.

Wow I like Milei's Picks for Deputies for LLA party!

Many of my friends are the same way @FuturoBA at the expense of women being bigger. I guess it is good we all have our own types. 😍

Desperation situation - I caught my maid of 12 years stealing from me toilet paper and food

Agreed. Normally I wouldn't accept any theft at all but I try to put myself in the other person's situation. Still, I would only give one warning and then I would have to terminate. The lost of trust no matter what it may be is a horrible thing in employer -employee relationship.
