How terrible for the locals that live around this river. Argentina has gotten complaints about this since the 1990's and still issues. Things like this that make me believe Argentina will never change.

And this folks is why you should never drink the tap water in South America.

This is why we never drink the water here. Some time during the year you can smell all the chemicals in the water.
 
Is it safe to brush your teeth???
I brushed my teeth with the water fine but only bought bottled water. It added up in restaurants and I bet it is much more expensive now vs when I went. I would just buy bigger bottles and fill out smaller water bottles and bring them in my backpack and brought them to restaurants. None of the restaurants cared at all.
