Argentine Leader Draws Fire After Cratering of Crypto Coin He Promoted - New York Times

There are so many posts about this scam on this forum. I'm not sure if someone posted this link to the NYT. But I think he might be finished. What was he thinking?!

These memes make me laugh. I think Milei is Argentina's best (actually ONLY) shot at turning around. I don't think he would throw it all away but was probably instructed by someone on his team to do this. I would think an Economist of his calibre would know better but obviously, he does not.

I'm watching this trainwreck play out on X.

Unbelievable watching some of these things.

I don't feel sorry for anyone losing money on this. One question. What if Milei didn't pull his endorsement of it? I assume it would have kept going up? It seems like this fraudster that helped create this is blaming Milei for changing his approval of it.

Here is an interview from this guy from an investigative reporter.

I just listened to the interview this morning and one thing for sure this guy is scared for his life. But he is a total scammer. Milei probably didn't know it was a scam but it's all almost a certainty that someone on his team took payment for access to him. He hopefully will learn a good lesson with this that he needs to be more careful who he surrounds himself for. This seems common sense to me not to get involved with things like this but if his sister told him to do it he would and wouldn't think anything of it.

Unfortunately, Argentina is full of corruption. It will probably be impossible to remove corruption in Argentina any time soon. At least in my lifetime. This has always been the case and probably will always be the case there. It's one of the few reasons why besides real estate, there isn't anything I invest in here. It's the safest investment here and probably always will be.
