Argentines Ditch Dining Out as Milei’s Policies Strengthen Peso

I heard that Pategonia had amazing brew pubs or at least the best in Argentina but a friend went down there and laughed as he had a similar experience. It's great to get some of the names of some in BA as I enjoy trying new beers. Not an expert but fun trying different beers. @CraigM I wouldm't be surprised if they just had the same thing on tap and were hoping people didn't notice. 🤣
Not Patagonia the region... Patagonia the beer brand. You can find it all over BA but they have their own brew pub in Palermo. I would give it 2.5 stars.

That's the thing Craig. A lot of reviews on Google I think are all questionable because I think the locals have different tastes from Americans. I also think Patagonia sucks. Anyone that is a beer lover will have the same reaction you did ordering. But if you talk to locals they will think it is great. I think locals just love hanging out with their bros and beer quality won't matter much. That probably accounts for their bad taste in mixing Coca Cola and fernet and thinking that tastes good! 😛 I would also give Patagonia beer 2 stars. I couldn't tell them apart. Not sure if they genuinely are different or they ran out of the others and all the stuff on tap is the same stuff.
I'll disagree. I quite enjoy fernet, both neat and with Coke, but I also drink Terma Patagonica... My cousin who is married to an argentino says I should've been argentino with my taste in pizza and drinks. 🤣
You definitely could be a local if you like fernet and coke! 😵 Just kidding. But I was surprised my Porteño friends can drink that stuff all night. They would drink it out at the bars and then we would come home at 3 AM and they would pull out 2 liters of coke and make more of it! You do sound like a local if you like the pizza here too. There are a few ok spots but I don't think the pizza here is good. They load up too much gooey cheese. At most places it is disgusting. But the locals think their pizza is the best in the world like their beer and fernet. 🤷‍♂️

The reaction of literally all my friends from Spain or EU that come to BA.

To be fair Larry that is Bariloche which is more expensive than Buenos Aires. My friends just got back from Bariloche and were also complaining. But my American friends and also European friends that visited me in BA were shocked at the prices of things here too.

Prices this weekend at a bunch of places seem like restaurants and stores are increasing prices and inflation is coming back. They feel a devaluation is coming and they are pricing higher already.

This always happens when people think that devaluation is coming. No different in this case. Everyone knows a devaluation is coming so mark up their prices.
