EU-Mercosur deal ‘in sight,’ says top European official

Chances of a sealed deal seemed slim at press time as leaders in France, Italy renew criticism.

Milei sure changed his tune on Mercosur. From maybe leaving it to becoming President of Mercosur!

This is great for Mercosur! French farmers arent happy but oh well.

This means reduced or removed tariffs on a range of products including beef, wine, chocolate, automobiles, medications, chemicals/fertilizers and maybe 25,000 jobs added. Great.

It's not a done deal yet. The agreement has to be approved by the 28 EU countries' parliaments and also the EU Parliament.
That might not happen.

I just saw that Milei is the new President of Mercosur. That is a big deal. He will probably use his head of Mercosur to get free trade deals with the USA.

For sure he will yield influence with the other Mercosur members. Probably lots of trade deals in the works.
